Are Instagram Grids a Good Idea?

You know when a person posts a single picture over 9 Instagram slots? And they have one picture down the side and another on the left. I think when Instagram feeds are curated like this it looks awesome BUT do they hinder growth because the individual pictures look like garbage and won’t go viral by themselves??
 
I think its an acceptable way to start an account when you have little to no followers as it looks good when people visit your profile. But at the end of the day most people are engaging with your posts in thier timeline and seeing 1/9 of a photo doesnt exactly make you want to double tap.
 
It's way to make your account more talk-worthy (users will always reference accounts where they found a great grid).

However, I don't think it should impact growth because you post the grid pics at the same time. And you can do this out your audiences time (for example during the European morning, the US is still at night, so you can post when almost nobody is using IG). And after the grid, yo can post a single image, just to top it off and to look as this image is the last one your account posted.
 
Yes, this is a great way to make a page more attractive.
