Are Hashtags (in posts) still relevant?

I have noticed a drop in hashtag engagement in my posts.

Acc follower 10k +
Avg Likes: 800
Avg Reach 3500-4000
Avg Impressions: 4500-5000

2 Months ago I made up to 100 impressions due to hashtags in my posts.
Today it is about 14-30 impressions and constantly decreasing.

My impressions from the explore page are always tremendously higher than my impressions from hashtags.

In my story, I reach about 1000 people per hashtag. So in my story, it works great.

Conclusion: For me, this feels like hashtags in posts are not relevant anymore.

Question: Do you guys made the same experience or should I reconsider my hashtag usage?

I am still finding that if I use the right hashtags I am still gaining a load of impressions from them, the amount of impressions has actually increased compared to a few months ago. Maybe try using different hashtags to see if they are more effective or it could simply depend on the niche.
 
Do you use the same hashtags in every single post you make? Try checking what's the most trending hashtags on your niche for that day and add them to your usual roster.

Not really, I actually wrote a little code so I get a good amount of randomization for those hashtags which made the best impression for me. 50+

Yes, with instagram they are still relevant.
 
How do you guys find out hashtags that work for you? I still have trouble believing that there are many people, who enter hashtags in instagram's search bar during their spare time. That's certainly not how I or anyone I know uses IG..
 
You Should Try Some Hashtags Applications Which You Know How Unique Hashtags Create And Post?

What software can you use?
 
You should check if you are shadowbanned. This happens when Instagram considers you use non-relevant hashtags in your captions. For example if you put #mountain on a beach picture (or use the same # very often).

If it happens you are, it means that your posts don't appear in the hashtag searches. Only to your followers.

You can use https://triberr.com/instagram-shadowban-tester for that
 
IG is very secretive with their impressions and seems to outright lie sometimes. Just look at the 'other' section. There is no way it is made up of random things because it dominates my impressions regularly - particularly if the post is a video.

I never felt like instagram hashtags worked that great to begin with.
From my experience the people that use them are looking to gain, not engage.

On a sidenote, I wish IG would release numbers on users who are 'following' certain hashtags. I think that would be very helpful for finding which ones to target
