These updates require webmasters to keep adapting to the changes made and make their site more appealing for visitors. But there are problems with the these updates also that they result in lot of waste of time and energy of webmasters. Overall do you think that frequent google updates are a good thing as they force us to grow.

They force us to grow? I wouldn't say that. I'd say they force us to pay for Adwords. No one really knows what these updates are about. I literally didn't change anything about my site and got tanked in 2020; a year later, I got a 2x increase in traffic, then got tanked again in 2022. Nothing was touched on the site...

I love these updates. These updates make the industry harder again and again.
If IM becomes easier, everyone will start doing it, and then it will become saturated at a point where no profit could be earned.

As per my conjecture, 90% people leave IM every year due to these updates.

Out of curiosity, how do they force us to grow?

The too many frequent updates in my opinion are not a good thing, it makes the SERP less stable.

I also discovered there's a kind of live update that goes on, on the SERP. I was studying how my site performs in one country's SERP, right in my presence the position kept on changing up and down.

this time I don't agree with you, buddy! Everyone should be rich and happy, not just a select few. If everyone does SEO / IM and the industry gets broke / broken, so be it! The ultra rich and wealthy should have 99% of their wealth confiscated from them by force if necessary and equally distributed among the billions of poor and miserable.

When everyone is rich and healthy the entire mankind is happy and nobody has reasons to revolt for any reasons, but when only a handful of soulless idiots accumulate 80% of the wealth that's when problems start to occur. I really don't agree with your point of view here

What I mean was “Those should be rich who put efforts...”

Yes, Update help to see the better search result, but sometimes they sucks:weep:

normally, yes. But I still think there should be a limit put on how much someone is allowed to earn, and I'm not talking about a limit enforced by law (although, in our fucked up society law is definitely needed), I'm talking about a moral, self-imposed limit that you need to consciously and willingly put on yourself. You see that your wealth accumulation ruins the balance of life your strong morality should then compel you to distribute your wealth to the less fortunate ones, yourself.

But I realize that I'm speaking utopianly here, so this discussion is kinda pointless :)

I don't agree on your opinion of everyone been Rich(even though everyone has a chance)
Do you realize that when everyone is Rich, been Rich and wealthy won't be worth it anymore.

I phrased it wrong indeed, but I think you got the point regardless, which was: everyone should have enough to live a decent, opulence-free life (as the 1st and most important rule), and only then, after everyone's needs have been met, the surplus of wealth shall be distributed among those who do more for the society (not for themselves).

Of course, if you find a flaw in this logic as well, I will keep moving the goalpost again until your stop being a smartass. But regardless of how many times you or me are trying to be smartasses the point that I tried to make all along was: EVERYONE needs to live a happy and fulfilled life, not just a select few

I can tell you this: after penguin (2012) was released the results in my niche were abominable for quite a while. The best tutorials/content were wiped out. Even now there’s still garbage ranking where there could be much better content being served to users. That is just one niche out of a million though. I can’t speak for search results as a whole because I don’t know.

Nopes. It has killed a lot of good white hat websites. Also, what's the use of changing their algorithm when they are straight up feeding the SERPs 3-4 ads on top of the organic results, multiple youtube videos in between, several PAA questions, and multiple offers at different areas?

They have to sustain also and pay their employees. They have to promote ads at top.

They're a good thing for sure if and only they do not mess up.

It is a better for you to keep you sites/pages updated coz that gives you a heads-up to your new competitors

They're good when they get it right, they're catastrophic when they get it wrong, which seems to be the case more often than not these last couple years.
