Are Facebook Groups still worth growing?

I think facebook groups are still worth growing if you can keep the community active a page can help with reach but groups usually feel more engaging because people actually interact with each other I'd probably use both rather than focusing on just one
 
I think whether a Facebook group is engaging or not depends on the admin team's post approval and whether the members truly interact with each other. Why don't you do both? Manage both the group and your personal Facebook page.
 
I would still use facebook groups especially if you are willing to participate and have real conversations instead of just sharing links. Groups can help you reach people who are already interested while a page is better for building and growing your own audience.

group marketing is possible however one needs to pick groups based on the activity level of their members and not their real number. a few people in an active group might drives much more traffic than hundreds in an in active group .

groups can definitely drive traffic but only if u really do something and do not just drop links. i would create the website with future branding in mind nd use a couple of appropriate groups to initiate interaction nd enggage people who are really interested.
