There is such a lot of noise to cut through these days. It seems people are taking a more 'round the houses' approach to ads on SM platforms (ie not going from ad to purchase anymore, but finding your brand on various platforms before buying). The shift in consumer behaviour is making ads more expensive and less effective. Interestingly, it's the non-polished, more authentic content that is proving to be most effective. I am also changing with more textures and with that comes more incentivesAdvertising is only more effective when you have something unique and different from the majority of people out there, if you keep doing the same old things the results will be worse due to the change of platforms that are competing with each other and changing a lot.
