Fact of the matter is, any .edu you can easily build a link on with either a comment, forum profile, or low vetting is completely, utterly worthless.
Here are the results of 300 .edu links my team spent time CALLING and researching/reaching out to department directors for .edu scholarship pages and resource pages over the last 5 months with no additional linkbuilding. It still works like magic for stacking authority on a LEGITIMATE business site, but good luck getting listed and staying on a legit scholarship page with a <$5,000 scholarship that doesn't actually pay out.
