Hello,

I have found a keyword, with an average keyword competitiveness of 22 (according to LongTailPro), but there are e-commerce websites on page one of Google. Do you suggest me to take action on this keyword, make a webpage with lots of content and reviews of the products in the niche, despite of those e-commerce webpages with dozens of products and so on? (but not with high page authority, <20 backlinks, Page Rank 0-2, low trust flow, and nearly none of them has their title or description optimized for the keyword)

So, I want to know your opinion about this..
thanks in advance

When is the next time they will update the ranks of the keywords? If it's not too long then it's worth waiting. If you trust the keyword to grow, eg. laser surgery, then it's worthy enough to see how the technology has improved in the last couple of years and act accordingly. If they are going to be snippets then give it a try.

Try ranking a parasite property for that keyword. See how it fairs. If it gets SOME good traction (page 3, maybe better) then you may be able to build a site out and rank better than the parasite and use the parasite as one of your T1's. I only say this because you NEVER can know how hard it will be until you try.

Thanks for the responses guys, I will take a keyword and will see how it goes..

I find it best to just experiment. Play with this for a few weeks and if it works, stay with it. If it doesn't, then abandon it and try something else. Progress never goes anywhere unless you experiment....That is how we have progressed so much in this world. :)

Absolutely..

Testing is the key to success. Sitting here and arguing with myself, if the plan will succeed or not, wont do any good for me..

If your not in then you cant win

Best of luck with this keyword

Please keep us posted about how you get on, i always like t hear other people stories good or bad as we can all learn from it

As others mentioned, ecommerce sites are no harder to beat than any other site. And you obviously can't really say for sure unless you try it.

But it depends on the query too. Is the term something that is suited for buying? A content filled review site doesn't always make sense for Google to serve up because it's "middle man".

In my experience Google gives preference to ecommerce sites for buying terms even if they appear to have weak metrics on the surface. They just prefer to send their searchers directly to somewhere they can buy.

My keyword is something like this "*** *** for sale". So, yes, maybe Google will give a preference to e-commerce sites that are in top 10, but again, MAYBE... I won't know that, until I try

I have worked on for one leading ECommerce website and I say,at prior stage,it is not easy to defeat ranking but once they seems on limelight then you can easily maintain them.

Was the keyword you were trying to rank too much competitive?

I believed I asked this question before long ago. E-commerce sites are almost the same or even less that normal pages due to low link building so they're not very hard to outrank.

What i supposed that all is upto the strategy that you frame to outrank any kind of Keywords it is your sense and hardworking.......

Basically if work accordingly than competing any site is not difficult.
