Are dedicated IPs a thing?

Came across an article one day that mentioned that the IP pool is quite limited (and many other things about IP addresses), I was wondering if IP addresses are less in number, how are proxy server providers offering Dedicated IPs? I'm absolutely new to this so would love some insights and knowledge!
 
There are a lot of IPs in the world. I'm not a whiz at this stuff, but there are enough IPs to allocate to servers/VPS, which can then be used as proxy servers. Aside from that, there is an ebook called Proxy Know that really explains things well. It teaches you how to make your own proxies. I think there is a free version that will answer questions about proxies and how vendors go about getting them.

Truly dedicated, sure. My IP on my home router hasn't changed in 3 years, one could build a residential proxy network build on similar. But the issues always come when the access to the residential changes hands - how this IP has a history that you may not want to be associated with.

This is why many people go to mobile. Though for some things, the IPs can get "banned" - not really for most, becuase the cell phone companies need Americans to be able to actually use the IPs to do normal things, and mobile IPs are, by definition, shared with everybody.

Many prefer "static" mobile which aren't actually static at all, but rotate normally usually every 24hrs while connected to a cell phone tower. These are quite popular for traditional "static" needs like client management of IG accounts. Very very popular, and much cheaper than rotating 4G proxies.

When proxy providers offer dedicated proxies, they offer IPs that only you can use. This is especially the case of datacenter proxies.

This means that you're the only user of a dedicated IP.

Are they real? Yes, there are real dedicated proxies (a provide will simply rent the IP from a datacenter and then sell it to you).

Can you testif you really received a dedicated IP? Not really. You can't really see what happens at the server level. So you'll have to believe the provide from where you are selling that he's giving real dedicated IPs.
 
The world is slowly moving to ipv6 for this exact same reason. Still, what has already been allocated; should be available.
 
AFAIK IPV6 is not that popular atm and no one's really sure when and if we'll fully get there.

Talking about dedicated IPs, sure they're a thing, but that's the catch. They're dedicated only for your use, so they are really expensive in comparison to shared proxies. There's also a thing called semi-dedicated proxies, which only a very limited number of users have access to. They are less expensive and in many cases might be a better alternative than fully dedicated proxies.

So yeah, if you're going for multiple accounts, which you are going to invest a lot of time in, dedicated proxies are a good idea, otherways, shared proxies should work just fine for you.

The most used type of IP are IPV4s. There are about 4 billion IPs which are projected to be consumed in the next years. This is the reason IPV6s were created. Some are slowly transitioning to this new IP.

I was wondering if IP addresses are less in number, how are proxy server providers offering Dedicated IPs?
Currently, there are enough IPs we ( proxy providers) can create and distribute for dedicated use.
