Are backlinks really that important?

Hello BHW, Yes, I do understand that building backlinks are important and it helps with SEO. I noticed that a lot of sellers are selling few thousands backlinks to a page.

1. Let's say I have a technology niche, what if I have few k backlinks that are unrelated to the niche?
2. If my target audience is just for a country (non-US), will these few thousands possibly unrelated backlinks give a boost or will it have little effect?

Appreciate any input. Thanks!

I say don't buy the thousand backlink packages to point to your money site (your main site).

Create some web 2.0 properties, some article submissions, then get the URL for those and send the thousand unrelated links to those URLS instead. Use the same keywords along with a few LSI, then diversify your anchor text with some "Click Here" random stuff.

For me it still important but i great if you try create relate content backlinks.
 
After Penguin, it can have everything. I mean, it can have a strongly positive effect, strongly negative effect, no effect at all :). You just need to give it a try to see

So do you think it's safe to blast blogs that point to the money site with backlinks?
 
Too many unnecessary backlinks are never worthy.With too many I am directly pointing out to the links created by SEO bots.
As by doing do you might fall in the Black hat web Spam genre and this might penalize your site in long run as Google is very unpredictable.
But Quality trusted manual backlinks drawn from highly Authorized sources are yes very much important.

Yes, I do this a lot of times with my offpage SEO campaigns.

Only things you should be worrying about is:
1) if you diversified your anchor text links (ie. "Click Here", "--your keyword--", "--your website--"" etc.)

2) how fast you're doing it (ie. don't do a 10,000 blog comment blast pointing to your web 2.0s, then the next week you build absolutely no backlink blasts to those web 2.0s)

3) diversify your link types. This means don't just do blog comments, don't just do forum links to your web 2.0s. No, you have to mix it up: do blog comments, a bit of forum links, a bit of social bookmarking, send some to directories, CREATE MORE WEB 2.0s AND POINT THEM TO YOUR WEB 2.0s!

Thanks for your suggestion. I don't have time to look into senukex or similar program to build backlinks yet. I see a lot of BST is selling few k backlinks to one page. So, it's not possible to split those links to multiple web 2.0 properties. May need to find time someday and learn how to build backlinks myself. Thanks.
 
Learning it yourself is extremely important. You can test which works and which doesn't and then if you want to upscale you will know which backlinks packages to buy :)

You actually do not need SenukeX or any program really, unless you want them.

I just do manual web 2.0 properties and article submissions, then either buy them or buy programs.
Right now, I want to buy GSA SER and use it with Scrapebox to blast my manually created articles, then that will pass the link juice.
Alternatively, you can create the web 2.0s and article submissions manually, then buy a few thousand backlinks to each of them.
Buy them at a steady rate, do not buy all at once then never again.
 
You can do as you want but you need to maintain the proper regulations and rules that are mandatory to make it happen legaly.
 
i'll say my favorite mantra again when it comes to backlinks:

RELATED low-PR backlinks are more important than UNRELATED high-PR backlinks.

It's an uphill battle if you want to do it purely white hat but in the long run, the returns will be worth the time and effort. :)
 
Thanks for all the advice. I will learn link building and use blast to point to web 2.0 I create - which ;inks to my main site. For manual quality link building, I can link it to my main site directly.

Appreciate if anyone has something new to add :)
 
Backlinks is what you need for organic SEO. If your website is getting links from irrelevant niche websites, it won't do too much good for you especially if you're using it in a BH method.

Additionally, if you're not looking for SEO, then forget backlinks ;)
 
Just had a thought here but what about the quality of the content and the backlinks. I have heard that before you get sandboxed your site goes up for a manual review. So if the content on your site is good (I mean genuinely good) and you have no problems passing a manual review should using link bots be too much of a concern?
 
Yes, it will still help although it's unrelated backlinks. The downside is that the boost won't be that strong.

Hmm, not sure about manual review and genuine good site part, hopefully someone can give their opinion here. Since penguin, blasting links may give us a negative outcome so may need to be careful.
 
cant really rank on serps without backlinks now can we? unless all you work with is long long tail keywords
 
Backlinks are very important as long as they come from well maintained and related websites. Irrelevant and low quality backlinks are worthless in my opinion. Of course, you can game Google for a short period of time, let's say 6 months or so if you get many diversified backlinks, I run a few sites that have thousands of backlinks and they were in good positions for a few months, but eventually all the backlinks lost their weight and as a result I lost positions.
