nope the real value of a link is on the PR. Not even the .edu/.gov have proven to make serious effects on SERPS only the PR of a site is what really matter.
Good question, I don't really know either ... But I am thinking that because https allows for data to be transmitted securely over the HTTP protocol, this will be seen as trustworthy and Google MAY place a higher precedence with https links.
Please clarify my post if need be, this was just a guess and this would be something interesting to learn...
