Reddit has a high incidence of mental illness. It's filled with depressed people with low quality social lives. Most of them are your typical rejects from high school. Very high percentage of them are programmers. So you don't have a lot of diversity either. It's a place people go to validate their views, opinions and feel important and appreciated, which is something they can't get out of the real world, since in real life nobody respects them. They aren't cool and they aren't desired. Most of these people are losers when it comes to their social lives. I've met a handful of redditors in real life and they all fit a certain stereotype. We spend a lot of time here to make money. There's a logical purpose. Redditors invest a lot of time on reddit and get nothing tangible in return. I see people there wasting hours discussing the most insignificant bs you can possible imagine. They're simply lonely and just wanna feel a bit better about themselves. Because the world hasn't been very kind to them, they tend to be angry. They're filled with hate. This leads to obsessive behaviours, such as stalking certain accounts and trying to punish them for whatever minor infraction. A regular person wouldn't waste time on this, but redditors live for that and develop fixations. They really have nothing better to do. Whatever you say in there, you will be reported.
Reddit should be used to make money or to learn something that can make you money. It shouldn't be used to have meaningless conversations. It's a waste of time.
