Are activation codes from third-party platforms risky?

On platforms like *** or G2A, the activation codes are often very cheap — is it likely that they come from illegitimate sources? Could buying them result in the official account being banned?

From my experience, buying cheap activation codes has worked fine and I’ve never had any issues or account bans. As long as you choose trustworthy sellers and avoid deals that seem too good to be true, it’s pretty safe.
 
Let me ask, what are the activation codes bought from *** or G2A usually used for? I just started running ads so I don't understand much about these codes

Those sites are grey market, some codes might work, but there’s always a risk they come from shady sources and could get your account flagged. Safer to stick with official resellers
 
My friend also mentioned some coupon codes on ***/G2A, but I'm not sure if they are safe or can be dangerous for the account. Has anyone here tried it?

I don't think it's cheap. I just checked the Amazon Prime Video subscription for 12 months for India on G2A and it is of $39.62 but on the official website it is just $17.06.
