If I wanted to sell another websites (physical) product on my own website for a small cut of the money how exactly would I go about tracking how many sales i got for the company. On that same note how would they be able to confirm the sales were coming from my website? basically is there a hoplink like service for physical products as opposed to ebooks/software? Sorry if this wasn't clear, or the answer is painfully obvious.

You can ask the website that have the products if they have an affiliate program.
If they do, they will have all things setup-ed and ready to track the sales.
If they don't have an affiliate program, you have two options:
1 - You collect the money and then make the order at the website with the discounted price and the buyer address
or
2 - Ask the other company to create the affiliate program for you, because you can't track sales if they don't give you access to see how visitors that you sent to them converted

If they do not have an affiliate program visible on their site and you decide to approach them make sure you have as much detail as possible to pitch them and be professional.

I had an email this morning form one of our sites that read "Yo man hit me up I want to sell your stuff and get money" - that was it. No contact info. Horrible approach. Guess what happened to that email? Deleted.

Let them know how you plan to get business/traffic, etc. Good luck!

You can also set up a simple WordPress site and use an affiliate plugin to track everything. Just google "wordpress affiliate plugin" :)

The business owner would utilize a plugin like that (if they were on a WP platform) - OP has no use for a plugin like that. He is looking to sell someone elses product.
