Apple's M1 chip is insane

It’s a walled garden. The only thing I’m not sure about is longevity, we don’t know yet how good or bad this computers will age. I’m still using 5 and 10 plus year old Macs and they kind of do the job just fine. I wouldn’t like it if they become disposable like iOS devices. I do believe in planned obsolescence. Other than that, these new chips seem to be very powerful and they are the entry level ones. Like an intel i3. We’re yet to see their top of the line chips.

If they can scale it up well, they would be able to crush a dual epyc build. For the Mac Pro they will probably go with a hybrid system with a very powerful SOC, but also PCIE and eventually develop their own GPU. The M1's gpu is able to outperform a 1050 Ti, at something like only 5 watts used by the gpu itself, scaling that up to 250-300 watts would be a beast.

From my personal computing experience ever since Internet become mainstream back in early 90s or so.
when I first get a pc is self DIY pre made by vendor , remember is one of my cousin recommand. that times I don't own computer, saw my cousin house own it . Used to play Alley cat etc games on his PC .
later managed to get one so he recoomand

yes Window computer , last few years etc partly is getting slower and slower and the usual Windows updates One thing i also know nuts about malwares etc maybe also make the computer slow than HDD break down
than that time a lot pre made big company come out , like Compac " I think got the name wrong " i like it because their speaker is JBL at both side but is freaking expensive.
than I go for Gateway

also use for a few years HDD break down , than during those days they come out those mini PC , like a cube is a trend during those period . I got it
also last a few year faulty again is HDD

also I kinda fedup with Window OS. , updates a lot , a lot bugs , famous Blue windows etc

but in the end I still get a Window pc , but this time a laptop. First time owning a laptop. I remember is from IBM yea top brand
also last few years, AGAIN I think is either HDD spoil or Power supply burn out or so , can't turn on during those day I also own a mini laptop , also a trend . if you guys remember those laptop is small good to carry around or do simple job , i use as spare along with my IBM main laptop

Than here come Apple. I got my first iMac. because this time i prefer a desktop. I don't always travel like to bring along a laptop so decided a desktop.
gee work great. No more headache about OS stuffs blah blah etc

I think is iMac which I use the longest , I remember bought at 2011 mid think so than come 2015 I get myself another iMac . This old iMac I used to run bot at the side.
Just last year the old iMac suddenly getting more and more crappy , suddenly cannot turn on. I bring to 3rd party vendor get it fix , cost 300+ to replace the PSU . work fine again
than this year break down again this time is HDD . Now dump at one side.

now using the iMac that bought in 2015, also running the bot while working with my other project . cross finger can last me

actually I used to like to meddle around computer stuffs, etc but as years gone by I slowly don't like. I don't like a computer always give me trouble using it etc.

Now One thing I hate Apple is , they kinda " always come out updates " Unlike during Steve job times.

my this iMac i still on using Serria if i got the name right because this iMac spec can't say use the latest OSX , as is slow . I don't mind
One thing Apple good is eco system, their OSX still ok running on old Mac if you still using the old OSX . but is the current updates kinda " purposely make it slowly " Same apply for their iPhone.
I still using iPhone 7+

end of the day I not a guy now chasing for the latest fastest computer or new handphone which I used to be.

Yes always got debate on Window users and Mac users.
From my experience each OS got their pro and con.

like those SEO tools etc actually a lot only cater can run on Windows but cannot be run on Mac.
This is why i always ask around got any web base ones

I know you can install Window OS on a Mac , switch in between using it but i don't like in the sense, man I got a Mac why need to install window just because i need to use those tools only can run on window?
but I just don't feel like.

Actually honest speaking is just " Weird to play games on an iMac or mac book pro "

This is why some folks claim if you wanna seriously into PC gaming is Window PC not getting an Apple.

I just use whatever. Brands don't mean a whole lot to me.

It's not about "hating" Google either. If you're a webmaster you could be making 10x more without Google taking 90% of the share, that's all. If you don't care it's fine too, you'll be working 10x more for the same SEO returns.

You don't need a fan on a chip with a low tdp.
 
I actually think that Macbooks are underpriced and hope they correct this in the future.

It's a good laptop, and it's cheaper than window alternatives with weaker cpu's and igpu's. If I bought a maxed out Dell 9510, It would cost $3,500 for 16GB ram and 2TB storage, the maxed out Macbook pro is $2,300 with 16GB ram and 2TB storage.
