i don't have big experience in making videos and cut them. used movie maker and imovie.

now my windows computer is gone and i stick to apple and i like to go in this.
in the store i found final cup pro for around 300 E and camtasia2 for 90 E

which you recommend for a beginner.
camtasia looks more limited to me. can someone tell me if one of them base huge advantages.

thanks

It depend what you are editing and the requirements of your edit.

Final Cut is an industry standard editing software, so if you are serious about developing your editing skills and progressing in the industry, go for Final Cut.

However, if it is as simple as stringing clips together and pushing out multiple videos for SEO purposes or what not, then Camtasia will do.

Any questions, please go ahead and write them here or PM me, I'll check back!

Final Cut Pro is definitely the way to go, in my opinion. I've heard a lot of people are actually switching over to Adobe Premiere, instead of switching from FCP7 to FCPX because the change was so drastic.

But personally, I use Final Cut Pro X and I love it so far. If you're familiar with iMovie at all, that will help you a LOT in becoming familiar with FCPX. The basic look/feel is pretty much the same- they have the same magnetic timeline, with the same ability to add connected clips, audio, etc. But Final Cut Pro X is SOOOOO much more flexible and robust than iMovie.

That's my recommendation. Camtasia won't let you do even a quarter of the things that FCPX will. Make the right investment, you'll be happy for it!
