Apparently EMD domains still works great

I've noticed that a lot of my competition are using emd domains, and they have been in the top 3 positions in the past 6 month. They do have good content, but very few backlinks. So does emd domains have any advantage or not? :cool:

They do. The update was basically against low quality emd websites.
 
If the competitors are smart enough they don`t reaveal all backlinks. And to be honest EMD has a small advantage but not enough to skip the KW if the EMD isn`t available.

Only those EMD's were penalized which were only ranking because they were exact matches
surely they do work and they will always have advantage
 
Yes, they still work very well...and bing & yahoo absolutely love them! Not very difficult to get a EMD ranked in those search engines.
 
One of my client also using EMD and he is ranking on Ist page but his website is clean with high quality content. There is nothing like emd got hit bla bla.

You are not the only one here capable of using that kind of language.

You actually answered your own question. You title the tread saying EMDs work great and you state in your OP that your competitors are doing great. Then you go on to ask the question if EMDs have any advantages or not. Makes sense to you?

We still were nice enough to answer your question. So please refrain from using any foul language. Tackle sarcasm with sarcasm if you can.
 
Just do the opposite of what MC says and you'll be fine.
 
I myself i'm ranking 3 EMD sites on google for 5 months now and yes as " skyrocketseo" said all still works
 
High quality EMD's still work.

Only low ones got penalized badly.
 
From my little experience, everything counts, the on page SEO , EMDs , Backlinks(good ones), quality content, I think that you have to focus on everything ; do not neglect anything, Then you'll have a great results
