anyone here try to make money from mobile apps/games? I want to know how can we get better listing in both apple app store and google play store. I know the basics SEO such as more positive reviews = better placement but how do we try to analyze which keyword gets more traffic and is there any other factor to rank highly in app store (beside reviews and download counts?)

and how do you guys market your apps/games in general? I'm wondering to start using service like tapfortap.com but i wonder if it's effective. Atm im only using facebook, twitter, youtube, and contacting review blogs. I'm thinking to try to promote my apps in forums but Im not sure where to do that without any fear of being flagged as spam?

for promotion you can use buysellads.com, where you will find many app related sites selling banner spots.

for android promotion appbrain charge $0.20 cents per install, and it should be free app.

tbh, ranking apps using seo is a bit tricky.

for keywords analyze, there are some paid tools. one is available from skybuilder.net, but its $147 per month.

hey BB thanks for the answer. there's no free keyword analyze tool at all? Wow it seems mobile app world is way costlier than desktop IM world :P

have you had any success with buysellads.com for promoting your app?

I had tried with buysellads but for my FREE Android app where only a few advertising platforms are available, in case for iOS there are lot of places to advertise, So its worth the try appcod.es will help you in KW's

buysellads can be used for kinda branding or shout your apps to the world. yes many focusing on mobile apps and doors are still wide opened in terms of app seo, app downloads, app review and ratings and app marketing.

Some day ago brad callen released one KW research program for this stuff. I forgot the name but he sent it via his email list. Will update if I find that mail.
 
Thanks mate. i personally like that appcod.es but havent bought it myself. Will definitely plan to buy it in a week or two unless if this brad callen KW research seems better than appcod.es probably i will change my mind :P
 
I have been on the App Store for over a year, it's really hard to make good money just off SEO these days. You need to direct people to your App in other ways.

Try making free apps, they get thousands of downloads. Then have your free App linked to your paid App. You can also take advantage of IAP.

I wouldn't mess with ads...You make nothing from them. Don't invest in them, don't use them to make money.

yeah I think the same after doing my own research in the last few days..

im well aware the best promotion technique is to promote our own paid apps in our free apps. problem is, how do we "kickstart" our free apps?

what's your promotion method for your free apps apart of using services like appbrain? do you manually email the review blogs and youtube channels every day asking them to review your free apps? or do you use paid banner ads like buysellads.com? I plan to use both but not sure yet.
