Hi Guys,

I hope you find my other http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/mobile-marketing/669647-app.html to be somewhat useful to start with app business.

Let me post another thread with all the updates which i tested so far , which is fetching me $$$$ per day!

Yes, $$$$ Per day, but not with one app! Let us go through now....

(The below screenshot is posted for only motivational purpose and not for bragging)

GUpGlkw

As I said before, this would be long post and i will be referring some of the services, I am using for promoting/creating apps. I am no way affiliated to these services. I don't guarantee that you will also make same money as others do. The below post made upon my experience and any suggestions are welcome. My english wont be much good, so bear with me.

ok, Lets start..

I will be posting my experience only related with IOS Apps and not android.

1. APP IDEA:

Dont break your heads on app idea or compete with big players.

The easiest category to make good income is game apps. Dont try to compete with temple run, angry birds and candy crush.

There are few niches, where big players never focus. You can bank in this category with less competition.

2. Niches revealed:

Trivia and Education.

Why Trivia & Education?

Psychology. Education category mostly browsed by family members/parents for kids apps. Kids are the primary target for more ad revenue. Parents tends to download educational apps for their kids. These kids never get tired playing games and they will be easily clicking any ad banners without knowing it was ads.

Further, as they play long hours, your ad impressions go high, parents tend to buy in apps for their kids .

Go through this category and you can find many apps, which can be easily coded or available in ios code selling sites like chupa mobile etc etc., Buy this code , reskin and do proper aso and publish it.

It can be same game play, but add the twist.

Twist? What twist i can add? New features?

Damn BIG NO!!!!!!!

The Real twist is Multiplayer. Yes, people like to compete with real players.

You already aware about flappy bird and Timber man storm. After these games, many published similar games with no success. But a guy published same game with multiplayer option and banked $$$$$. (Yes, I Learned this part after playing his multiplayer game and digged up his app status)

Gotcha! But I dont know coding, but found my goldmine and how can I add this feature of multiplayer?

Go to freelancer or odesk, hire a professional. If you are a coder yourself, check the below sites for multiplayer option.

1. Appwarp
2. Nextpeer.

(search in google with the above keywords)

I suggest Appwarp as it can be customized well than nextpeer.

But, Why Multiplayer version?

Good question. Now everything is mobile. I am damn lazy to post any stats, if you want stats, search in google to find why everything is mobile.

Multiplayer version:

People/players like to compete with real world. (ego?)

They want to show, how high are they? Exploit it..

Appwarp has the option to compete with FB friends/Gmail contacts...

Important:Multiplayer goes viral and you no need to spend money on advertising your app.

3. Fine! I found my game, added multiplayer option and published. How can I montize it?

a) Make the game as free download.

b) Add as much as Inapps , apple users dont bother to spent money on IAP,even though its crap. From my past 1.5 years of research, i found they are bit egoistic (sorry iphone users, including myself). They pay $$ to prove that they are high.

c) Use Only chartboost and admob for ad monetizaton.

Note : Trust me, dont try/test monetizing with any other networks, stick with chartboost and admob. ROI will be more than any other networks.

Ok, now you are ready with your app and your app is live in appstore. (Note appstore approval time is 8 - 14 days, due to ios 8 updates). How to get more installs and get ranked in appstore.

Before promoting your apps, you have to sign up with below sites.

http://www.appannie.com/

The above site will help you to track the number of downloads, your app ranking in various countries, helps to understand your competitor app rankings.

https://sensortower.com/

The above site helps you to optimize your keywords. ios allows you to add 100 characters. you have to use it wisely. sensortower allows you 14 days free trial period, you can use it and cancel if you are not satisifed. But I suggest you to signup for atleast $77 plan, if you are serious about your app business. This will help you to track the app ranking for your keywords. This site works like any other kw tracking tool. so you can update your kws according to the rankings.

1. Do not use long tail keywords. (aso is different from seo).
2. Try to add keyword in the game title.
3. Do not use the same keyword which you used in the game title in the 100 space characters.
4. Spy the top 10 apps keywords, but do not copy all those kws and paste in your apps.
5. Never use the popular game kws in your app like angry birds, doodle jump, fruit ninja,if your app is about zombies. trust me your app wont be shown even in top 1000.

http://www.mobiledevhq.com/

The above site is alternative to sensortower.com. The difference between both the sites is you can signup free with mobilehqdev and can trackyour kws, but you cant spy your competitor apps. If you are tight in budget use mobiledevhq.

4. Finally you are ready for promotion.

Ok, How can I promote my gaming app?

Now we discuss about buying installs, reviews and ratings.

Many websites providing installs. Top sites are as follows:

1. facebook
2. admob
3. iAD
4. tapjoy.

1. facebook

Pros:
You can target interest based cheap installs. (starts from 0.03 cents per install)

cons:
you should know how to optimize the targeting buyers, if you are not confident search for the fb ad optimization service provided by member abradabra.

.2. admob:

Pros:
Again, you can get cheap installs but not interest targeted. (starts from 0.03 cents per install)

Cons:
Some of the countries are not allowed to promote the apps.

3. iAD
High conversion rate, but installs cost anywhere between 0.10 cents - 0.50 cents according to the countries you targeting.

4. tapjoy:

Pros:
You can get even 10k installs per day and their support is awesome.

cons:
Min rate is 0.40 cents per install.

Ok, from all the above, which one you should use for promotion?

I suggest facebook. why? because you can target mobile users according to your apps. Initially start with low budget of $3 - $5 per day and you can increase it later according to the installs.

Dont buy installs from any sellers..They all are bots or incentivized....

Incentivized installers dont stick with your apps for long time and they never purchase any In apps...

If you are new to FB, try abracadabra (BHW Member) service to fetch installs, as I am using him for getting installs.

For Android, use BassTrackerBoats (BHW Member) android appranking service.

Presently I recommend only these 2 services and note, Iam not affilaited with these services.

Ok, now which country I should target for promoting my apps.
I suggest only the below countries for promotion in early stage , as it fetch you more revenue in terms of ads and also inapps.

USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Japan, south korea,Russia.

use localization service for japan, south korea and russia and not translation. Localization differs from translation and Localization fetch you more installs.

Japan, southkorean visitors spend more on IAP'sthan any other countries.

Now, let us see how this app ranking works?

you have optimized your keywords, optimized your desc, still your app is not showing up in first 500 or 1000.

surprised? now we compare this app ranking with website ranking.

For ranking a site you will optimize a site with good title, content and keywords, but your site will not rank immediately. you will be building backlinks, sharing in social sites etc etc for ranking.

same goes here, from my test and experience, I see kw rankings and also app ranking will improve depends upon the installs and ratings.

Yes, when I have xxx number of installs per day, i can see my kws ranking also improving day by day. For every 5 star review my ranking improves few positions. so what i say is do not stop with aso, you need to buy installs and ratings.

For ASO, I recommend this service which provides high quality installs and ratings which are absolutely safe and the reasonably priced. "

http://9nl.us/appstorm

The above service price is cheap as well as providing great results.

For review and ratings, Do Not Buy From fiverr . You are fucked!!!!

I use microworkers for buying reviews, its cheap and real...No reviews will be removed...

I use Blackhat method too , for fetching reviews, But cant be revealed public now as it can be patched. Serious players can pm me for the method. But i will reveal only to serious players.

Apple is having some norms regarding reviews, for x number of installs you should have x number of reviews.

Get one review and rating for 100+ installs.

If you have good budget, buy large number of installs. Number of installs determines your app ranking. Say for example I buy 300 installs per day, my app will be moved to top 50 in united kingdom in 5 - 7 days. Buy 500+ installs you can see it will be moved to top 10 soon in trivia section.

Go Ahead , Implement and Make $$$$$.

Note : Do Not Build Apps from Scratch. Search in google for "buy ios app source codes". Buy it, reskin it and launch the app. In this way you can launch the apps quick and can save $$$.

Another Note: The above income screenshot is from 20+ simple gaming apps. Its like building micro niche sites, but no need to bother about Google updates , just spend time on aso and ratings and you are good to go.

Any Questions, please post in the thread. No Pms Please.

Regards,

BigBuddy.

Oh my, ive not finished reading OP's post yet but i had to say i think i have a great idea for a multiplayer app, and its something im personally interested in. Im actually excited about it.

Bookmarked for further reading. Thanks allot BB.

Another nice and awesome share :D Bookmarked and I will start working on it tomorrow ! ... Only bcuz it's 4 in the morning here

Is it true I need Mac to open developers account? I am a total noob when it comes to this, but thinking about ordering 10-ish games and submit them there. I wish there is a service where I could choose 10-15 game codes and then someone could do all this for me
1. Reskin games
2. Submit and get them live in store

so I don't have to bother with this. Any outsourcer doing this and what would be the price, you happen to know?

Great numbers there BB

You no need mac to open developers account. Just need a valid CC and $99 developer fee.

1. Buy gaming codes from chupamobile or other source code selling sites.Hire a freelancer from odesk to reskin it. Odesk is cheap. Inhouse will be more cheaper. (I have my own coders and designers)

2. Once your app is ready, its easy to live.

Buzz me in skype after 12 hours, I can help you out. (I am yet to sign off now as its 6.00 A.M here)

So your income is not off one app, how many apps do you have?

How expensive was it on freelancer/odesk to get the multiplayer function added into the games? I would expect it to be a lot of work and a bit costly.

Also, wouldn't there only be a limited amount of games you can add this functionality to? Like if you tried modifying and publishing any recognized games, wouldn't it end up getting removed from the app store for copyright issues?

Thank for the answer BB, I won't be bothering you with Skype, I don't use Skype much. I was wondering what the hell are you doing here posting since it it 5 am in India :) 2:30 am here, gotta go to bed too.
Anyways, thanks for your answer, I will see to make 10-15 apps if I find time. If I earn anything I will report back

So your income is not off one app, how many apps do you have?
20+

Maybe I will code a Education/Trivia app next. I've always avoided game apps since I hate designing graphics but I imagine I could make it work with just a TabView in iOS? However, you talk about reskinning, so I bet I could handle the minor code alterations. Are your apps in Obj-C or Swift? I can't imagine there's too many source codes available in Swift yet. I know there isn't too much library support yet. Will have to do some digging on GitHub.

Anyways, good share as always.

Exactly 23. But most of the revenue is from only 11 apps.

It will be less than what you are spending on other business ventures. Best bet is hire a VA who knows coding and use appwarp.

No worries about copyright issues as far as you are not copying their design. Game play can be copied and you wont end up with legal issues or removal.

For example, candy crush is match 3 game play, which was copied from Jeweled. It can be copied, as its not new. But they made their game viral, due to their design. Same goes here.

So design should not be copied, but gameplay is not patented by any.

Just PM me and i am glad to reply...

Good luck..

obj - C, and you can always hire cheap and professional designers from odesk...

You know when you have just entered BHW when you find a thread that is better
than 90% of eBooks you read! Nice share for the community BigBuddy ...A lot of people
miss the app business and mobile marketing altogether. Really they can go hand in hand
if you play the game right.

Cheers!

Hey BB,

Are you still buying installs on a daily basis or are you at that point where it's set and forget?

It's amazing that you can still do all this while being a mod at BHW.

I applaud you for your work ethic!

Let me brief it here...

Apple tends to give importance to your new app for the first 7 - 10 days, by ranking your app for the top keywords. Later it will get lowered. Now you have to buy reviews, installs to regain the position. But ROI wil be 200 - 300%.

When comes to multiplayer, you just set it and forget. It gets you natural installs through social media.

Are Apple apps best to go for over Android?

Are Apple apps best to go for over Android?
Apple has limited devices and ios versions to cater to whereas android has tons of different devices and versions from eclair(2.1) to the upcoming lollipop(5.0). Also BB mentioned apple users tend to buy more in-app purchases than android users.

Thanks for the thread BB!

Nice share BigBuddy, your effort is much appreciated.
