I have a couple of hostgaytor accounts and only have the primary domain installed in each.

I now need to start adding other domains on there and wanted to know the best way to do this. I have been advised that if you get it wrong at the start it can be a nightmare.

I am guessing I need to just use the addon in the cpanel then I believe these folders should be visible in the public_html folder, then upload. I have also been advised that creating a subdomain for each can be a better option?

I am planning on probably installing 5-10 domains on each. Will be a mix of HTML / WP sites probably.

Any help from the BHW gurus would be greatly appreciated as always.

    :)

in your cpanel, just go down to "Addon Domains" - fill in the info and you are golden. Very easy to do. These will show up in your ftp client area under the public_html folder. No worries - no nightmares - easily correctable if you screw up...but you won't.

    Many thanks

Is it easy to use with Fantastico? Anything I need to know about WP / Joomla?

I think I have a good grasp of the HTML sites. Dont have much practical experience installing CMS sites.

Do you just point Fantastico at the domain or folder?

    :)

Fantastico is really easy. I don't use Joomla, but that is just because I got comfortable with WP. I suggest you install one WP and one Joomla site and become comfortable with both. Fantastico makes things "stupid" easy - you will have no problems (not calling you stupid - just that even some idiots I know could use it). Just click on Fantastico and then start with WP - you won't believe how easy - literally seconds to install. Just remember - it is all reversible - don't worry - just do it!

    Thanks for your help.

I knew it was a stupid question but I have heard of examples where even experienced ppl have dumped lots of things into the same folder and had a terrible time resolving.

Nothing to worry about. Fantastico is the easiest thing to do in the planet.

Once the domain has been created, the folder made in your root will become the root for the domain. Everything you put on it is like a clean installation.

Do it once and learn it forever.

    Piece of cake.

    Good luck.
