There's a site called http://pcpartpicker.com/ . It compares parts prices across multiple merchants so you get the best deal online.

Ingram Micro, Bell Micro, Tiger.com, MA Labs (SuperBiiz), Leadertech, Evertek (Geeks). Used laptops and desktops, Precious PCs, Crown Systems.
That should get you started in the right direction. Computer store owner since 1989. Good luck but you picked one of the worst niches to invest in. Just saying. In our small town, a new store opens about every month and once closes about every month. Building desktops for a profit is risky at best and selling them online (and shipping them without some sort of damage) is borderline insanity.
The money today is in laptop repairs and selling Corporate off-lease laptops. But don't mess with them if you aren't able to repair them. We get about 10 laptop repairs a day and it pays good because we have reball equipment and the only shop in our area that can repair boards.
Even if you don't go to that level there's good money to be made replacing screens and if you can solder decently, fixing jacks. The beauty of it is everyone thinks laptops are like cell phones and don't need maintenance. Everyday we see them with completely plugged heatsinks, warped bases and blown GPUs. We just love customers that run them until they quit. Minimum $100 profit on every repair.
If they don't want the laptop fixed they usually leave it, we fix it and sell them for a couple bills. Now that we're just getting into 3-4 years since everyone switched from desktops to laptops the repairs are exponentially increasing and jackasses like the Office Stores that got into PC repair won't touch laptops. At best the sent them out but most have stopped doing that. Laptop repair is where you want to get skills and bank in the computer business. We build and sell desktops but only to have shit on the shelves. Our real business today is laptop repairs.
