Anyone With Makers Studios?

I'm thinking of Joining Maker Studios
Quick question for anyone who has ever been Partnered with Maker Studios:

If you had a 70% deal
With $100 a month earning showing in your Maker/Youtube Analytics
and 100,000 views a month
About how much would you get paid by them TOTAL for that month?

you get paid $70 and maker take $30 if you make $100 a month.

Maker has 30/70 split! and for Big Fishes like WilliamJohnson, KassemG and LisaNova! 10/90 split.

60/40 split with them. Very HIGH CPM's that will blow your minds. 100K views would be around $600,finial if your video titles are good. Max Payne 3 videos get really good ads for some reason.

I was with them for a few months. My CPM did not change from when I was in my own CMS network, so I infact made less with them than without. Hence me returning back to my own CMS.


But, they do offer to void their contract when ever you want to, so join them, look at your earnings after 2 months with them, if they aren't higher than without them then leave. That unfortunately can't be said with Machinima and some other networks so I'd really join Maker first and if they fail to arouse you than try another network.

30/70 is 30/70... There's no CPM lock so if you make 1$ from that 100k (very possible btw) you will get 70 cents, they take 30 cents...pretty easy concept right there.

They calculate the split after the month has ended and all views and money generated are in.

Wow! That sucks! I'm better off without them then! I get a hundred bucks a month right now with just Youtube and Adsense, $1 CPM
I'm a full Partner right now with branding and everything, so if I try Maker Studios out like you said and then decide to quit and go back, will I still be a full Youtube partner? Or would I have blown it?

I always thought $1 CPM was shitty, but I guess that's really good though compared to what shitty Maker Studios offers.

I honestly have no idea. But one can assume if you got accepted the first time, you should be able to every other time thereafter?

Weird, so for someone who can get at least 100,000 views a month, it would be better to go with a different network that has a high CPM like 2 or 3 per thousand views like Machinima? Instead of just $70 bucks a month from Maker Studios?
Then they would get at least double or triple the money? Right?

Depends on how many of the 100K views are monetizeable. You can easily ear more than $2-3 CPM from makers, but it isn't guaranteed.

Yes it says over 100,000 views are monetizable.
So how would I make Maker Studios give me $2-3 CPM for 100,000 monetizable views instead of just 70% of $100?

With 100k monetizable views translating into $100 (you get $70) means the CPM is $1. There is no guarantee that you'll get a higher CPM in maker studios, might even get a lower one.

If your CPM is $2 then you get 70% of $200, with a CPM of $0.5 you get 70% of $50.

Quazpolter and DragonLord you have no fucking idea that those $100 are the 70%. If they pay $100 you get $100.

If you don't like their average CPM go with Machinima

Even on the yt network forums there are people making $40 a month and are incredibly stupid thinking that they will get 70% of $40.

Honestly I just recommend that you signup for Maker, stay for 2 months, compare the earnings, cpm, etc if they aren't higher than when you weren't with them, leave. Maker does sell ad spaces to companies so for all we know there could be a campaign right now that is in direct relation to the videos you produce and your CPM could sky rocket. Just don't expect that if it doesn't happen.

Hi Adam, Is this still the case with Maker, I've been with them 2 months now and would like out! How easy is it to get released from a contract? I'd do anything to go back to the YouTube partnership but worried they'll make me wait the year out...

Seems like youtube pays a LOT more than Maker!!

You may be missing the full concept.

As a partner, Google AdSense ads back-fill your inventory when YouTube doesn't have a direct sales deal from an advertiser that includes your channel.

That will still happen with Maker, and yes if nothing changed you'd still have to pay out 30%. You should understand that Maker knows this. If this remained the status-quot Maker would not be able to grow their network. The value that Maker brings a partner is:
1) Audience development. If you grow, you both make more. Maker has a team of people who's purpose is to help your channel grow through a variety of tactics and strategies. Among these, for example, is in-network collaborations and cross-promotions that they will find and help set-up.

2) Maker has a sales force who is securing ad buys from advertisers directly. Meaning you make more money.

3) Their head sales guy use to be on the YT sales staff. He knows the staff and knows how they work. This helps you (and them) as they negotiate advertising deals.

Don't get hooked into percentages alone. Considering the growth of your channel based on views, subscribers and total payout. I don't agree with 2-month period. I would give them at least 90 to 120 days. Give this enough time for them to get to know you and your content and for you to get to know them so you can fully understand what you can do together. If at the end of that time you see additional growth in your views/subs and a bigger amount in the checks then stick around.

According to Social Blade's website I make between 20-100 dollars a day
But I actually make less than a dollar a day!
