Hi

Is the visual composer plugin good for a magazine style wordpress website?

It seems a bit heavy and tailored to people with zero technical knowledge, I have spent like 20 hours tweaking php and css files in the theme so a few shortcodes will not frighten me, so if anyone knows a lighter plugin that can create cool magazine-style columns and galleries (like on mindbodygreen or any other magazine website) please tell me.

Also, I downloaded a premium theme (without paying for it) and it automatically installed Visual Composer, am I using the premium version of the plugin or some demo thing, it has an option to enter a purchase code in it. I ask because I am thinking of actually purchasing the theme, as it includes the plugin with it and is like 50 bucks.

Visual composer is good if you don't have technical knowledge. I would go as far as to say that even if you have technical knowledge, visual composer saves you loads of time.

Visual Composer is the best plugin for this. No matter how much technical skill you have there is no point wasting time - just use it.

If you have a good server it really isn't that heavy and will only slow the site fractionally.

Taking it to the "free realm", I'd recommend Origin Sitebuilder. Great alternative, huge community.

Alternatively (an alternative to the alternative's alternative) you could always look into making a custom template. Fairly easy and you can just select it for each page/post.

Sorry, I meant a custom "page template" not a whole theme :)

visual composer is just great. Thats why it is the most sold plugin on codecanyon.
I use it on alot of websites and many of the better premium themes have it. It can save you so much time. Also their are bundles avaible for like 20 USD that includes like 30 addons for it.

I want to put my vote in for visual composer, but I am a little light on technical skills and wouldn't thinking of messing with the php or css unless I had some serious guidance.
I have a friend that uses Thrive Themes content builder, but I don't know any thing about that.

Is this a plugin? I couldn't find it on WP ... I did a search in wp plugins area and I got a plugin called "special recent posts." I'm assuming it's different. I'll do a search on Google now, but just curious.

Drag and Drop Front end and Back end Page Builder Plugin... Don't need a Technical Knowledge ...Awesome plugin

I think there is no better plugin than visual composer so go for it without wasting time
