I noticed that when a few people save my Reddit posts early (not upvote, just save), the thread tends to stick around longer and sometimes gets pushed up later.

No solid data yet, but it feels like the Reddit algo might value saves more than we think maybe as a signal of long-term value?

Anyone else testing this? Do saves actually help with reach or ranking inside subreddits?
Or is it just noise in the system?

I haven’t really noticed that I have had posts with a bunch of saves just die right away and others with zero saves that somehow stayed up for days.
 
I noticed the same, my alt accounts save my main’s posts early, and the algo seems to bump them higher in hot for days

Thats a real good insight you got there. I think it all brought down to user engagement. If people are saving the post its something like bookmarking a website and it sends a signal to algorithm that the post is helpful. Upvotes do help but going with mix of saves, upvotes and all that can surely work.
 
Hard to say for sure, but I think saves might indicate long-term value to Reddit.

Yep, I've noticed something similar. When a post gets a few saves early on, it does seem to get more life. It makes sense, a save means someone finds it valuable enough to keep. Reddit probably sees that as a positive sign, not just a quick upvote. It's about genuine interest, not just passing engagement. Good observation.

I’ve noticed that too. It seems like saves could signal long term value or interest, but I’m not sure if it directly impacts ranking. Definitely feels like it might play a role, though, since saved posts stick around longer.
 
Agreed, saves probably act as a subtle engagement metric showing content relevance. Even if it’s not a direct ranking factor.
 
Saves might be Reddits way of measuring lasting interest kind of like a ‘bookmark’ that tells the algorithm this content deserves a second look..

It's possible that “saves” serve a certain role as a signal that the reader “found useful/worth saving,” and the system may consider it a form of quality interaction.
