Hello,

Anyone here using fiber optic ? What is your internet speed and does it usually use static ip or is it dynamic ip.

Thanks

Pretty sure optic networks are static IP, with the ability to call for an address change. I could be wrong.

usually you ll be provided with dynamic ip at first and then you can switch to static ip..

I'm on fiber. 50Mbps down. It's residential so it's a dynamic IP, but the DHCP lease is pretty long. A static IP costs extra.

My brother moved to South Korea he said it's the norm down there, not sure why the US can't get on it already.

I thought you were talking about this Shut Up & Take My Money dance routine.

I've been with fiber internet in the past 4-5 years. Currently, my plan is for max 50Mbps and I'm getting 45-48Mbps according speedtest(on WI-FI). I've been and on a 100Mbps plan and was getting 80-85Mbps and 50-60 upload. And I always use dynamic IP, I think is better if you are in IM
