you can lose your ass with ppv too, i think ppv even more in fact. People could pay the minimum fee to get into ppv networks and thats already a stretch for them. Then they start sending traffic and they notice NOTHING converts, they then struggle until they quit with the traffic source altogether.

PPC is much more manageable and easy in some cases. First decide if you want to use search or banner ads, ppc is a broad term. And then is you want to use search go to yahoo or msn and just use that 200 that you would have used with the ppv networks and just test one vertical with many different offers, different ad copys, and landing pages, systematically. then scale on the stuff that works.

Both can work, you just have to look around for the information. Pick one source and then just dive in head first.

PPV isn't as good usually if you want to run offers that require people actually spending money up front. It's better for collecting leads. With PPC, people are usually searching for whatever you are selling, so they are more prepared to spend money.

Both require you to test multiple campaigns. You'll lose money to start with, but hopefully find a few winners that will pay for the losses and then some.

I've been doing some searching around in different forums and it seems like ppc is usually prefered over ppv and most of the success stories I hear is usually from those that did it with either ppc or media buys, I don't hear too much success stories from ppv. But if you do a search on Google for ppv vs ppc you'll see all these biased info about how ppv is sssooo much better than ppc, probably because its the latest and hottest method right now and easier to sell than some older method like ppc since everyone is always looking for the latest and hottest trend.
