anyone use teamviewer.com (free version)

Teamviewer was my first remote control software, never needed to look further.

Tips:
- password is generated with each start, unless you set up a fixed password (same each time)
- won't work if 2 computers have different versions, best to use the newest
- to access from work, home teamviewer only has to be started and running, no confirmation from home (of course, you have to know the ID and Pass)
- it is incorrect that it can access your work computer UNLESS it has work ID and Pass.

very recommendable piece of software.

With regard to the time limit, I contacted the company and was informed that for personal use there is no time limit. I inquired as to how they would know whether TeamViewer was being used for personal or business use? Apparently when a connection is established through the TeamViewer servers they can determine whether the PC's involved are utilizing "Static IP" leased lines, or whether they are utilizing dynamic IP's. Business lease Static IP's to avoid communication interruptions. The bottom-line, if the PC's you are going to be using TeamViewer on access the internet via ISP assigned dynamic IP?s there is no time limit.

Another correction - there is no free or paid versions.
Both "versions" are exactly the same.

You alone are declaring if you are using it for personal or business use....

team viewer is great. The only thing that you should do is make sure you change your settings on the laptop at home to prevent it from going into sleep mode.

I do tutoring with college kids and it helps a lot that I can go onto their computer and fix errors while they watch.
 
All of the applications mentioned above work well for what you want. I use Teamviewer regularly and it is great.
Why not take the idea further and connect all your hardware ie your smartphone as this means you can access everything on your work or home computers add the flexability of skydrive and dropbox for "cloud storage" and I am sure I don't need to explain to you the possibilities!
