Hi Guys.. So as every one knows that google has launched disavow tool two weeks ago.... So anyone of here has tried that tool??? and if yes, did you get any kind of good results???

I tried it last week but haven't heard anything since then. According to Matt Cutts video should take a few weeks.

I tried it the day it came out and didn't notice anything or get any messages back. My understanding is that you won't get any notification from them but they will just ignore those links internally.

Hi! I have tried the disavowed tool. I have spent 4 hours collecting links from my GWMT. I disavowed 580 links from the 2800 backlinks that is appearing on GWMT. After a week, I felt that changes have occurred to my rankings. My rankings from my #2 keyword went up from 38 to 18. I can't really prove if it was the disavowing's doing.

I have tried but i havent hear from them.. Maybe it could take some time.

The disavow tool seems to be this :

Yeah May be... but do you have noticed any ups or downs in your website's ranking... means if it really works then it's great... i have not tried it yet...

all this tool does is give google a better idea of who/what websites are gaming the system... if eveyone disavows X link then google can instantly pick up on bullshit links.. i wouldnt suggest using it

Yeah I have the same doubt thats why i have asked you people.... What i think is... they are just using our mind to update their spam box. and when they will get updated they will f**k all the websites those will come under their spam box guidelines.

I second that. Also, this could be a google trick to find our the webmasters who have spammed their sites, which might be taken over by them in the near future.

So, I used it recently on one of my site that has good links only, though it's of no use on such sites I assume. Lets see what happens.

Exactly... I think they just forget that Every dad has a Dad... and you call him grand father.... lol :P

Your theory doesn't make sense -- how is the disavow tool going to give Google any information they didn't already have? You're going to obviously disavow your bad links right -- the ones that hurt your rankings? This means Google already KNOWS those are spam / thin / garbage websites.

If they ever did use it for such a purpose, then there is a possibility of negative-negative-seo.

But even google does not know everything... they are not too fast...... so they are asking people to help....

No, havent tried it.

I think of it as a total waste of time unless you have a really, and i mean really shitty backlink profile.
