Anyone think this new myspace will work?

I think it might have a chance. People are getting sick of facebook and google+ sucks cack.

I agree! I am SOOOO tired of Facebook. Myspace might make a comeback unless something drastic happens... like the relaunch of friendster or something haha. The nice thing about it is they already have a lot of users.

I've read it will be more centered around discovering new music which has probably caught the interest of a lot of the people that work with Soundcloud.

People who rely on third-party websites to represent them are always going to be on the junk side of any industry. Musicians who want to look serious need their own site. As for "new MySpace", well at least they've dropped that too-clever-by-half "My__" logo. I wish them well. Now if only we could get rid of Facebook.

I can't see anything overhauling Facebook at the moment. I don't believe Myspace will be a success. I reckon a new social network will come out which will over throne Facebook as most people are getting sick and tired of it.

Who really knows until they relaunch properly. In the mean time I would say get ready to give it a whirl whilst you can. If its relaunched properly you can guarantee a lot of people using the site for a short window of time. I am currently building my bots to use and abuse as fast as possible. If its a few $$ over a few days its better than nothing whilst you sit there pondering whether or not the site will be a success!

Always remember - you have to be in it to win it :D

Not really. If something takes on Facebook, it has to be a startup. Myspace is dead and buried.

People will promptly forget this new design after a few days. Facebook succeeded because of it's take on social networking: it makes it work almost perfectly. To outdo that isn't easy.

When you say will work, you mean will we be able to make some bucks from myspace revival?
We never really know. When it goes live, I'll get into it as quickly as possible, abuse it as long as I can, then leave. :)

Only if Facebook ends up making some dumb updates that'll lead to the death of itself. Otherwise, probably not!

I like to idea of focussing on music. However, I don't think it will make the comeback. It may get a bit of the market share but not too much.

There needs to be a social network that doesn't just concentrate on person to person. It needs to have a range such as person to person, person to business, business to business ect...

I would be interested to know if they actually use vertical scrolling gestures (wheel or trackpad) to control the horizontal scrolling if the whole UI only utilizes horizontal scrolling for overflow. It would be a win for those who use a mouse without scrolling capability. It would also be nice to not have to click/tap and drag/swipe to move around.
