Anyone testing +1 effects (real/fake) SERP movement?

So as the title reads, thinking about doing a little test and see if some of my sites will actually receive better SERP gains or more traffic by exploiting the +1 button.

Anyone else done this test, that would care to chime in to see what its worth? Whether its positive or negative, doesn't matter just like seeing a little feedback. :eek:

GWT is telling me CTR went from 4% to 25% with 12 natural plus 1
 
I've done some 300+ to one site and haven't seen good results.
 
This is a good thread and I have a very real area where I have seen it make a difference:

Google knows who you send the most emails too and it also knows what topics your main emails are, this helps it grade strength between you and your contacts, or "circles" now.

When someone in one of your circles hits +1 and it is very relevant to you it will boost in the SERPS for you personally. Google is good at grading the degrees of separation so what does a bunch of fake +1s do when the user has never been active, doesn't have a search history built in Google, never sends an email, etc. Nothing dramatic.


1 REAL +1 is much more impacting then fake ones HOWEVER I think that perception is everything so 400+ fake ones may lead to a few real ones that spread through circles.

Google does alter searches for GEO search, the +1 is a altered search for circles (which include your email contacts, email topics, search history, and what you +1)

There it is, it really is about the natural ones. You see what your "circles" see more often, combined with your search history etc. etc etc. Different strengths for different factors when determining the rating.
 
my findings are below

-its really helpfull for you if your site is baby in age.
in fact single +1 from the real person who have big network on google+ is great then 1000 +1 with 0 persons in network

that's the key point we have many buyers demanding thousands of +1's within few days but we DO NOT recommend this. It is obvious google tracks this shit. We would rather suggest buyers to go for drip posting so that a certain number of +1's could be provided to any site in drip fashion.

To the OP's question I guess I can give you practical examples I have served many sites so far and got plenty of re-orders and bunch of my clients reported that they are feeling their serp ranking increased. The key is to feed +1's randomly and steady not flood of +1's altogether. Matt cutts already clarified in his video that all the tweets and FB likes will be considered as social signals and will help in SERP increase so I don't think they won't consider +1's in similar way.
 
yeah i think it does have an effect on SEO too. Problem is, most +1 services out there seem don't understand they need to "cover" their service. They just blatantly +1 your site and obviously that's not good for your rankings.
 
The thing changes when you are logged in and do a search as compared to when you are not logged in and do a search.
 
Sounds like I need to figure this out and get it into a dripable type of service so it locks in clients for life. To keep the constant flux of +1's hitting the site(s).

That would probably do fairly well from what everyone is saying/contributing to this thread.
 
I don't know how this will work. What if you run a site that is extremely embarrassing? (herpes, impotent, sexual dysfunction) Would anyone seriously +1 those sites??
 
+1 doesn't affect SERP results...it's just equivalent to the Facebook "LIKE" button. Has nothing to do with rankings.

Yes, it is best to get them slowly, When these are drip fed, I have seen the best results coming out of it, and that is what I also recommend to all my customers :)

It is not necessary that the search engine rankings will only increase when people are logged in.

The rankings will increase even when people are not logged in.

its mentioned on google site that google+1's will help in Serps. Google has mentioned it indirectly because they wont share their search Algo publicly:, Its mentioned on the url: http://www.google.com/support/profiles/bin/static.py?page=guide.cs&guide=1364508&answer=1152622

Here is whats mentioned:

When you click the +1 button, you're explicitly signaling interest in displaying, sharing, or recommending specific online content, including ads. So if your friend chooses to +1 an ad, page, or search result, you might see that +1 on other websites.

Google stores your +1?s to personalize the web, for example, by showing them to your social connections and others who may find it relevant.

Apart from the above explanation from google, I can tell it from my personal experience that Google +1s help a lot in search rankings, A lot of my customers have discussed the positive effects the google +1s had on their website rankings :)
