hi, so nowaday people tend to use computer, handphone and all those eletronic products more which meant more looking down movement. I myself have this issue when i was writing my thesis in my university life. Sad truth was that the doctor was asking to consider to have a surgery by changing the herniated disc (yuack if you know what im talking about). i still pending for taking that surgery suggestion and start to carry out my own physical treatment by watching the some video from youtube. Anyway, wish me luck! it is good to know your experience if you are also suffering the same issue as i do and how you overcome. Peace

i have 2 warn down discs at the base of my back and
between the 2 a trapped nerve causing chronic pain across the bottom
of my lower back and down my left leg [ sciatica ]
when those 2 discs pinch hard on the nerve just putting 1 foot on the floor
is like being knifed in the back, ive had it so bad at times i couldnt
get outa bed ,

i was seen by a specialist who said replace the 2 discs with a steel rod
in my lower back, but my doctor warned me, if that rod moved ide be in
a chair for life.

so i said fck that, ill take the back pain, the odd day in bed here n there,
leg pain, muscle pain, i wont roll the odds fck that.

daang bro, how you endure that pain? i can seriously imagine your case. I once know a guy who did that operation. 2 disc replaced and he was having almost the same issue like you except he was getting pain over his head. btw, any prescription given by the doctor from your side? lower back worn disc should be able to cure by laser operation, no disc replaced needed, it is what i understand from my doctor here. Are you still able to have a day job?

Be sure to move and exercise often. I try to stretch more and use a lacrosse ball and a theracane to dig into tight areas (mostly my traps, neck for me).

On top of that I also found a series of exercises that work for me and help set my posture good (moves shoulders back, as mine are forward a bit, fixes my ATP, and slouch).

I find doing these exercises completely offset my computer time. If you're sitting a lot, you're likely to have weak glutes, hamstrings, and quad, while your lower back is stronger and may be tight.

So 2x/week I do full blown sprints (excellent for posture, and strengthening quads, hamstrings, and glutes). I also lift 3x/week, but if you're just looking to improve posture, the sprints and posture exercise is good enough IMO.

My posture exercise is:
glute bridges
planks
lunge stretch (fixes tight hip flexors)
cats and dogs (stretch for lower back)
hookyling abductor presses (put pillow between your legs and squeeze and release = 1 rep)
touch my toes or try to and hold for 1 minute
supermans
kneeling arm circles

Sounds like a lot, but takes about 15 minutes. And my posture is perfect after that.

for the pain, tramadol codeine.
but, heres the kicker, i also suffer with diagnosed
depression and hmmm self control issues and for that
im using prozac.

so its funny when im having a bad day
with pain, my anger problems get triggered twice as bad.
we all have our crosses to bare, still, i havnt murdered anyone yet,
i just butcher them with me language instead lols

You need to exercise, do some cardio, walking, running, pushups. Dont be static.

well after 10 yrs of back trouble , dibz has just cured me yay. pft
when you have chronic disc trouble and sciatica you wont be
pushing up anything or running, wrong advice, make it worse.

walking yes..

I started to have neck pain as well because I think that my neck posture is wrong while writing or using laptop. Any short excise anyone can suggest ?

@proxygo ?

im not a neck specialist and i dont have neck trouble
so i would advise see your doctor.

Swimming, wall angels, stretching, yoga work in your posture when sitting

I've notices the same issue and it's getting worse day by day, hopefully not permanment damage

I can't sit neither walk straight. The more i walk my left leg twisted. Pain from my hip till my foot. At start it started in my hip. This happened to me for over 3 years now. Yesterday morning i just did this 1 weird trick for 10 minutes.

And pain was gone voila... After pain gone just remember to walk straight with your belly front as far as possible. And sit straight. Do this every 3-4 hours. This trick worked for me since yesterday. Hope it worke for everyone including the 10 years chronic sciatica... :)

After your pain is gone do give me likes. Since you saved yourself from expensive meds, doctor's, surgery.

I don't have too many problems but I do have a bad posture and its probably from sitting at a desk all day every day.

Someone told me recently that hanging from a bar so that your body is straightened out with the aid of gravity is good for correcting your posture.

Also, if you are ever visiting Scotland, give me a shout because I know a fantastic back specialist over here.

better adjust your posture now! or you can try swimming more often to train the muscle

i did that, but it is more beneficial for lower part of the waist. it doesn't help too much on the neck.

if you have neck issue, you have to stand upside down. If you have pain other than neck then it is good to have a hanging bar training. the important fact is that it has to stretched in order to extend the squeezed disc

I constantly practice stretching to fix my computer-neck-stiffness. It gets pretty bad if you're not careful

ya man, it kindly sad that it became a norm for human being nowadays. Only the one who suffered understand the feeling, it is really annoying sometimes which make me emotional.

Having a bad backpain. Turned out that I got scoliosis. It comes and goes back and forth. Always think that I should start indian medical treatments. but I'm just bored to do that. Lol.
