I am not looking for freelancers, I am wondering if any of you fine people are still doing PR releases?

I am wanting to send a couple out and am surprised (well not really) to see that most are charging $200+ for PR submissions and half of the submissions seem to be thinly veiled link farm sites with names that sound similar to real news outlets.

Who is reputable and not super expensive these days?

press release is beneficial if you have deep pockets. you are right for $200 - $250 range you'll not get much exposure in real news outlets. A $500 fee can do. but again that is not guaranteed.

We did three PR from press advantage the top tier like for 3 per 1k. Honestly I saw no difference. For what I have researched work great for Local SEO, citations etc but for me (regular e-commerce) not worth it. Maybe for no follow links and anchors.
