Does anyone sending mass emails successfully as a admin of SMF forum?

When you install SMF forum you can use the "send newsletters" option from the admin panel to send mass emails to your email lists (not to users registered in the forum). My question is if someone doing this successfully.

How many emails you sending per day? What is the inbox rate?

You would still need your own server otherwise you are at the hand of your hosting company. SOmething like 100-200 emails/hour. Do yourself a favour and build a quality list with AWeber.

Mailchimp is cheaper and on par if not better than Aweber.

How they deal with spam complaints? My attention is to use scraped emails, not emails from opt-in list.

If you want to spam people you cannot use a quality list service.

I cannot advise you what to use as I do not spam. However, there must be some software dedicated to the task of mass mailing.

Using SMF as a mailing platform is sort of like using Drupal as a text editor.

I had some hacker/spammer hack my SMF installation and use it to send out thousands of spam emails. I got a letter from the host asking me to remove/update SMF... With that said, using it to spam obviously works but you're likely to get shutdown fast as hosts pickup on this stuff pretty quickly.
