there all taken
I had spent hours thinking of a name yesterday
its a complete waste of time
when I mean rare I mean one word usernames
like 'Hello' 'Steps' 'Bright' or even 2 worded usernames that look appealing

You probably won't have much success with usernames like "hello." Be more creative.

I fail to see what the name of your channel matters. Nobody goes to channels by URL, they either subscribe because they like content or use the search button.
I couldn't tell you what half the channels names are I sub to

It's branding.

And people will sometimes say go to youtube.com/MyBrandableName
 
im a youtube partner and ive got more features now that ive been one for 2 years. i can recover old youtube accounts that have not been logged into for over 1 year and can partner them to mine. or i can just recover them and not partner them.
