My Outbond click rate got dropped from 0.50 to 0.10%

Yes, I’ve noticed the same drop in outbound click rates too.

What’s the reason for this? Maybe the Christmas rush? People are in buying mode right now, and since it's Q4, the flood of ads might be killing the organic reach.

q4 is definitely a factor but a drop from 0.5 to 0.1 smells like a domain-level shadow-nerf

ads do flood the feed in dec , but pinterest's vision algo is also getting way more aggressive at ghosting pins that it clusters as low trust

check

visual footprint - if ur reuseing the same creative assets or even slightly modified ones that share the same visual hash , the algo suppresses the distribution . try unique-ing the pixels with a 1-2% digital grain filter or a slight color shift to break the cluster .

bridge & tracking links - r u using a tds or tracking redirects ? pinterest has been nuking outbound ctr for accounts using flagged redirect patterns . if ur lander has a high bounce rate ( people clicking and leaving in < 3 seconds ) , pinterest kills the reach to 'protect user experience' .

exif data- if ur uploading images with stripped or generic metadata , u lose a trust signal . try injecting location-specific exif data and lsi keywords into the file properties before uploading .

it’s likely not just seasonal noise .. sounds like ur domain trust score took a hit . try switching to a fresh clean bridge domain and see if the ctr recovers on new pins

Yes, Pinterest's algorithm has recently shifted to prioritize saves and close-up views over outbound clicks, aiming to keep users on-platform. To combat this, ensure your pin description clearly states the value of clicking and use direct, compelling call-to-action overlays on your images. Also, verify your Rich Pins are properly set up for instant clarity.

many users, creators, and marketers have reported
significant, sudden, and sustained drops in Pinterest
outbound clicks and traffic throughout late 2024
and 2025.

Yeah it's definitely a thing, I've also noticed a drop in my Pinterest traffic and outbound clicks. The problem for me, was fixed when I put more specific hashtags and not the same generic ones all over again.

My account did not recover since November. any changes to be done?

Outbound CTR drops often come from shifting algorithm signals rather than the traffic itself if users are being retargeted more or your ad placements changed subtly, impression quality drops. Before blaming traffic sources, isolate by device/geo and compare segment level CTRs over time. Also check if ad fatigue, creative repetition, or slower page load times are impacting session engagement small UX shifts can kill outbound clicks faster than traffic volume changes.
