I’ve noticed my CPC doubled in the last month on FB ads even though my targeting and creatives haven’t changed. Is there a platform-wide CPM spike or am I missing a new optimization setting?

Happened to me last week, lowering CPM bids and refreshing creatives helped a bit

It’s likely a mix of both — Facebook has seen platform-wide CPM/CPC pressure (due to more competition, bidding density, seasonality). Also check for recent changes in your accounts: new bid strategy, audience overlap (ad sets cannibalizing each other), creative fatigue, or algorithm updates. I recommend auditing your campaigns (bid caps, relevance score, overlap, placements) and testing with small tweaks before scaling.

Yes, CPC increases are common lately due to higher competition and seasonal ad demand. It’s not just you Facebook auction prices fluctuate. Review bidding strategy and audience overlap to keep costs under control.

CPC doubling is usually due to increased platform-wide CPM + higher competition (Q4, sales season), not necessarily a wrong setting. However, it is also worth checking old optimization and creative because the algorithm can be “tired”.

We are in that pandemic now and almost all creators are complaining. The funniest part is it is not stable, and no longer predictable. You can be running the same ads for 2 weeks straight and suddenly the results shift into something very low and unexpected

I think you are not the only one facing this problem. Many of my friends are facing the same problem, they spend a lot but their revenue is much smaller.

CPC spikes often happen after algorithm changes or increased competition. Monitoring trends and testing small adjustments usually helps stabilize costs.

Yes, CPC increases are common. Prices rise if competition increases or if there's a seasonal effect. Even if you don't change it, the algorithm and the number of advertisers will change. Unless there's a new setting, it's likely due to market conditions.

You are not alone, advertisers have been complaining about this issue quite a lot lately, partly due to the new update and partly due to the competitiveness of the product. Change the content of how to optimize.

Check these in Ads Manager: go to "Delivery Insights" → see if frequency is above 3-4 (indicates fatigue). Also check "Account Quality" → any warnings can quietly increase costs. Try refreshing creatives with new hooks or test Advantage+ campaigns → they often find cheaper inventory through AI optimization.

The increase in ad spend is due to higher CPMs and increased market competition , not necessarily due to bad settings. Current performance is volatile and unpredictable, which can lead to sudden drops in results. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly check optimization and refresh ad copy to combat the many challenges of the algorithm.

Increasing CPCs is a common trend due to increased CPMs and seasonal competition; this is normal fluctuation on Facebook. To keep costs stable, review your bidding strategy and check for audience overlap. Also, refresh your ad copy and check your old optimizations as the algorithm may be getting tougher.

The campaign is expensive, the indexes are higher than before partly because your product is saturated, there are many people running the same product as you, you need to change and innovate the content as well as more creative images and videos

Yeah, CPC spikes like that aren’t random — it’s a mix of seasonal auction pressure and Meta’s ‘trust recalibration’ phase. When the algo rebalances audience segments, even small changes in your ad history or pixel health can double your costs.

I think your content is getting boring and no longer appealing to Facebook users
You should create a new campaign

Facebook is tightening advertising, CPC may increase accordingly
