Anyone run Pligg or Elgg sites

I've installed both Pligg and Elgg sites -- does anyone have experience running them? I'm starting to see postings happen on the Pligg site every 30-60 minutes. The elgg site is a little slower, maybe once a week or so I get a post.

Has anyone monetized these sites?

What kind of posts are they, and how heavily have you marketed both?

I haven't done anything except a little bit of bookmarking on the pligg site. They are automated submissions on both.
