Anyone remembers?

I had to dial up with AOL to let my mouse dangle so I wouldn't be disconnected, leave the computer on the whole night, and see if my songs had been downloaded. I do miss those days..............
VIVA TV too, if you are from Europe then that's as legendary as Winamp was..

The internet seemed way more fun back in those days, Now it seems like a constant dopamine hit trying to chase the high of the old days. The lack of control was so much nicer, so many internet sites have been lost to Youtube, Reddit etc.

I just downloaded a DBZ music video from an old site, and it only took like 2 seconds I remember back in the day it would take something like an hour to download with Dial up.

Realplayer was the OG cool video player

Love Winamp, used to spend hours organizing my mp3 library, bulk editing ID tags etc...
the closest modern mp3 player/music library is Clementine.

I'm ashamed to admit that I still use it from time to time, but the newer skin thar came with Winamp 5.

Ah the MP3 scene rip communities go to player before napster was a thing.

Thought it's some serious stuff when I used it when I was 8. Felt like building a rocket now.

Was a big cognitive difference whether I used Winamp or another player.

Same now, when I use spotify or youtube, music sounds bad.

When I play offline music, it sounds good.

What the hell.
