As per few research reports , if you have an article of 1800+ words (a quality article, then its easy to rank on first page) without any backlink

Can be done, depends on kw difficulty, on page, content. Have less than 2 months old website with a keyword ranking at 1(brand name) and other keyword with good volume ranking at 18. so, given some time, it can be in first page too. Anyways, some links would be really helpful .

It depends a lot on multiple factors. You have to keep designing your own strategy. You can easily rank for long tail keywords just with content and with a very pro internal linking, but you many need some linkbuilding process, specially when you are targeting your home. Currently some people think that content should be 60-70% of the investment (time/money) and linkbuilding the rest. I've seen some content pros that even discuss going further to 80%

Not being funny but its pretty easy to rank a brand name on page 1, position 1. I'd be worried if it didn't rank.

As you can imagine, some of that information is outdated now, but back then, I was ranking for some pretty decent keyword sets (numerous variations of keywords; so the primary keyword along with a bunch of LSI keywords) on multiple sites.

Yes, you can rank for low competition keywords but with the help of a strong domain, and with internal linking, you could also rank for higher volume keywords without external links.

Yes for keywords with little to no competition. Domain has to be aged + good content and perfect on-site optimization
