Anyone overweight here ? [Journal]

Good luck on the weight loss. I had lost 50lbs in two months... all I did was eat less, exercise more... pretty simple when you think about it.

Another Vin Diesel is working on his body here, Congrats on your body success!

Goodluck! I just want to let you know tho that your desired "after shape" is impossible to get without steroids so don't fool yourself. Unfortunately, the fitness industry is filled with scumbags trying to sell false dreams.

For the moment just continue your journey, stay dedicated and constantly improve your lifestyle to a healthier one while losing weight and looking and feeling better about yourself. :)

good luck with your goal man, i lost 35lbs in 2 months by just switching to diet soda :)

OP - Do yourself a favor and read the 4 Hour Body. You will learn that diet is 80% of weight loss. Exercise can help but it will not result in lasting change UNLESS you change how you eat.

I have accomplished 10kg and up weight loss 3 times in my life.

1. Attempt #1 was exercising like mad for 15 weeks straight while downing protein shakes and other 'stuff'. As soon as I stopped the weight came back.

2. Attempt #2 was using a raw food diet. Worked great. Lost the weight in 12 to 14 weeks but I could not stay on that diet forever. As soon as I stopped, weight came back.

3. Attempt #3, currently in progress is using a modified slow carb diet that I got from the 4 Hour Body. So far I am down 10 kgs after 12 weeks. I exercise once per week. I probably could lose a little more if I did more weight training and that is something I want to test as well.

After reading the book, I understand why all 3 attempts have worked. The key ingredient in weight loss is insulin. Too much in the blood and your fat cells open up to store fat. Too little in the blood and fat cells open up to release fat.

Slow carb/low carb diets cause a state of low insulin which turns you into a butter-burner. Exercise does this to an extent and so does raw food diets that are low in carbs.

Slow carb diet was pretty easy for me to get used to. I eat a normal meal and am full for 3 to 4 hours. No cravings anymore at this stage. The diet calls for one cheat day per week. And that means eat what you want. After 12 weeks I notice that the less food I eat during my cheat day the better my results are. I still have fun food (pizza, chocolate croissants, etc) but I have a normal portion.

Anyhoo, I applaud your effort. It takes COURAGE for you to post this in an open forum, especially one not dedicated to health. That alone will give you an edge. In the book, a simple study was done that compare people who kept a food journal with people who took pictures of what they ate at every meal and posted it online. The picture group won hands down.

Get the book or at least search for it on bing and learn enough to get started. There are youtube videos that can get you started too.

Why I can't give thanks ? Are there limits ?

Do you have a treadmill at home ? Why don't you try like what I'm doing.

I too hit the gym, but couldn't go everyday.

Do a beachbody program like Insanity and P90x. They really work if you eat 100% clean and do the workouts. If you don't plan on eating ONE HUNDRED PERCENT clean.. forget about it and don't even try!

I know from experience, I wasn't as nearly as big as the current shape photo but I def wasn't as good as in the desired photo either.

You will feel much better (no pains, far less sickness, no medical bills ETC). You will be much more proactive in your work and whatever anything you do! Make plans or you will fail at reaching your goal ;)

This is the best advice I have seen on here. The eating is important but all beachbody programs come with nutrition guides. People think that since the beachbody programs are infomercials that they don't work. BS. They work. If anyone says they didn't work it's because they didn't eat right or they didn't stick with it. These workouts are hard, but give you the best kind of mix of cardio and resistance training.

Right now I am doing a hybrid with P90X and Insanity. Anyone out there that are running are wasting their time. Running is one of the worst possible things you can do to lose weight. It's hard on your joints and your only getting about a fifth of the burn you could be getting in the same amount of time.

You need Interval training and to lift weights. Muscle burns so much fat on it's own. When your body has high muscle content your RMR (Resting metabolic rate) shoots up. For every 4 pounds of muscle your body has you burn 100 more calories a day by doing absolutely nothing. If you do interval training combined with a couple of weight lifting regimens a week you will be doing the most you can do to lose weight.

Insanity is awesome because you don't need any weights. It's all body resistance. P90X you do need bands or dumbbells, but the resistance training is so worth it.

Please, if you really want to lose weight, drop the running. Only run if your competing to run. If anyone out there is advising you to run to lose weight, you need to look to a better source for advice. Interval training and weight lifting. I promise if you do one workout with Insanity you will know right off the bat the difference in running and interval training.

Check out the results I got from my first run at P90X, doing the hybrid as we speak.

Mods, I know my site is on the pics, but I give you my word this is not a plug. You can not buy anything on that site at this time. Again, this is not a plug to my site, this is only so I could show my before and after pictures. And yes, that is really me.

Sorry about how large the first pic is, I thought I resized it, must have forgot. Just hold Control and scroll out to see it in your screen.
