Anyone notice Google Local Fluctuations?

It is a roller coaster for sure the past month and a half. Spots 1-3 never move though
for some keywords (and in certain niches), the top 3 spots are deliberately stickied by google, so there's 0% chance to rank at the top for those keywords

Good to know, thanks. So anyone ranked 4th or lower can expect the dance to be freqently happening.

I don't know about that, I only know that the top 3 (sometimes only the 1st result) are stickied

Local SEO changes include AI overview reducing clicks (10-20%), unconfirmed volatility, bugs/features in GBP, and organic ranking demotions from diversity updates. Volatility likely stems from the impact of the March 2025 core update.

I am currently ranking 2nd now to a guys PBN network. I remembered this comment. I do believe the top site maybe sticked. I hit 2nd on every variation of the keyword. So does stickied move any? on this keyword position 2-3 does for sure. Or in what situation does a powerful stickied get moved(a pbn site)?

I've never seen stickied results move. Also, I am not talking about some random guy's site when I say that the results are stickied, I am talking about big sites belonging to powerful companies / google partners, like Reddit, Amazon, etc. Only those big brands never lose their top spots for certain keywords, some random dude's PBN network site can be de-ranked eventually

Thanks for clarification.

I don't know about it, thanks for sharing!!!! Learn lot of things above this comments.......

Yes, I notice some local changes after G update. So, I think others may also notice them.

Yes, many people have seen changes in local Google rankings recently. It could be from a recent Google update or changes in how they show local results. Make sure your business name, address and phone (NAP) are correct everywhere.

What type of google sites? Or you mean paid results?

organic ones. They outright stay #1-3 endlessly until google deliberately un-stickies them

Yeah, noticed shifts in local packs lately — seems like Google's tweaking proximity vs. relevance again. Some listings dropped even with strong reviews. Could be tied to the AI integration or a quiet local algo refresh.

Noticed recent local pack shifts Google seems adjusting proximity vs. relevance, possibly due to AI or a quiet local algo update.
