Ever since CTR Theme got sold to a new buyer, once in a while when I login to the site, I see the adsense publisher ID changed to someone else's.

    Anyone see this as well?

    It is pretty annoying.

Next time I see the publisher ID as someone else's I am going to put it on a site that they are not going to like when they get a warning message from Adsense.

Funny, I'd think the developer's account would get banned for being associated with so many domains. Unless he is doing it really intelligently...

If any proof of this can be posted I'd encourage everyone to stop using it.

Seriously? He actually changes the Pub IDs? I've been using it for a while now and haven't seen anything out of the ordinary so far.

Though I'll admit I haven't been checking at all, I have noticed some fluctuations that I just attributed to unlucky days.

I guess I can check every now and then on my end. I'd be able to clone the theme quickly enough but I'm worried about losing rankings if I were to try and switch themes. ._. lol.

If this is the case, he probably made it so that your own pub ID shows up if you're logged in to WP or using the IP of a user so I'd advise checking from public computers, etc.

Would be nice to see some proof.

That's weird. Anyone wants to shoot me their url along with their pub id so that I can check? I can check it from ~20 ips and see how it goes.

I checked a few times with my VPS and other browsers and nothing seems out of the ordinary.

I looked into this some more and I don't think its true--at least on my sites.

I went and tracked pageviews per domain vs ad impressions per domain and both numbers match up.

If anyone has a screenshot of this happening PLEASE POST IT

For example, one day I'd make a decent amount on ads, the next day I'd make a fraction.

At first, I thought it was just a bad day, but when I logged in one day to check the publisher ID's, I saw that one was changed to someone else's.

It can only be the developer (new buyer of CTR Theme) because who else logs into that plugin only and changes publisher ID's?

Do you have a legit version of CTR Theme or do you have one of those nulled versions?

Implementing an ID publisher swapper is a little tricky. I've done it myself once along with ad-jacking (moving adsense ads under the mouse cursor).

You basically prepare and iframed ad-unit and detect the user-agent. As some browsers don't allow cross-domain iframes to check the top frame's URL, you can swap the ads with your iframe for those browsers and Adsense would see the iframe's domain instead of your website's.

His site probably just got hacked or he's using a nulled version.

It would be really dumb of the developper to implement an ad swap script unless he's offering a free trial and skimming a % of your traffic (lots of companies in adult do that)

Why would the developer use a nulled version?

The OP would be using a nulled version. Of course it wouldn't make sense for the developper to use a nulled version.

Why would I be using a nulled version?

I'm using the legit version, and I have already mentioned that.
