The hash rate matters, not the price.
You need to calculate the power costs too.
    You need fans,power supply (800-1000W).

    With a 6990 you can make 0.05BTC/24h.

However google fpga, asic. is it that hard?

Since ASICs are very hard to get, the best solution for mining is FPGA (~0.075BTC/24h on 4xSpartan 6)

efficient GPU mining times are pretty much over... when aisc's are getting delivered (bfl etc.) there will be no more room for small gpu miners, at least not for someone who hast to buy whole new equipment... if you somehow are able to get power costs for a very low rate AND do have all ne equipment needed then you could give it a shot... but better go for alternative cryptocurrencies so...

I mined with over 10 GH/s in the good old bitcoin times in 2010 and early 2011 ! spending 1k bitcoins just for small services or loosing wallets with over 1k bitcoins are things I really have to get out of my brain nowadays lol ;) i just should've keeped all the bitcoins till today :D
