Anyone Know Real Ways (or Even Blackhat Tactics) to Boost Meta Ad Performance?

Is anyone out there still finding reliable methods to push Meta ad performance higher? Back in the day, people used blackhat tactics like adding fake feedback to ads to manipulate delivery and lower CPMs. Some swore by backend tricks, account swaps, or creative refresh hacks, but most of that has been shut down or carries big risks now. With restrictions, HiVA tiers, and backend flags playing such a heavy role in ad delivery, I’m curious: what actually works today—whether above-board optimizations or underground tactics—to break through suppressed reach and get consistent results?

You need to Use custom and lookalike audiences to reach people who are likely to be interested in your product/service. Track user behavior on your website to optimize ads based on real data. Make sure your ad content is engaging, valuable, and relevant to your target audience.

The problem isn’t the method, the problem is that sometimes we want to get the result too quickly.

Hey mate thanks for the reply. But we run a Meta ad agency with some of our clients doing 1M+ in ad spend a month. We are wondering how we can improve performance for our clients because we are seeing crazy bad performance with high CPMs etc.

Today, the most effective way to boost Meta Ads performance is to focus on high-quality creative combined with a clean account system and continuous testing process, instead of relying too much on old risky tricks.

I totally get the frustration with declining performance! While those old blackhat methods are definitely dead and risky, there are legitimate strategies working now that focus on Facebook's current algorithm preferences.

Try these in Ads Manager: use Advantage+ campaigns with broad targeting - they often outperform manual methods by 20-30%. Test "Advantage+ Creative" for automatic optimization, and focus on authentic UGC-style creatives that feel native.

Check "Account Quality" weekly - maintaining clean account health is crucial now. Use Facebook's Conversions API for better tracking, and test multiple ad formats simultaneously rather than relying on single approaches.

The biggest wins come from creative testing speed and authentic engagement rather than trying to game the system.

What specific performance drops are you seeing, and have you tested Advantage+ campaigns with your current creative strategy yet?

Most of those black-hat tactics don’t last long, and in many cases they just increase the risk of losing the account. From what I see, the more reliable way now is to focus on clean data, better creatives, and audience testing.

Before you make up any ads creative for boosting, firstly utilize this strategy. The strategy is to find a way to test that creative, the most effective one (video format) organically on another platform i.e tiktok, if it does well, use it for your facebook ads and add scroll stopping captions to it. it will be a hit

Sometimes campaigns can’t be created if billing information isn’t added or if there are restrictions on the account. Looking at Facebook’s account health and checking notifications usually gives a clue about what’s missing.

Continuously test, update, and analyze metrics to find what works for you

In my opinion, most of the previous blackhat tricks are now easily scanned and no longer effective. You should optimize clean accounts, divide campaign structure clearly and refresh creative regularly to keep reach stable.

Most old black-hat tricks are dead , now the most effective is high-quality creatives, clean accounts, continuous testing, and leveraging Advantage+ for optimized delivery.

In reality, the “black tricks” are almost no longer sustainable, the risk of account blocking is very high. What is more effective is to focus on **new creativity, wide target + funnel optimization**, combine **reasonable incremental budget** and keep the account in a “clean” state to avoid distribution restrictions. Our agency finds that a standard, sustainable approach still brings more stable and long-term results than any trick.
