    Hi all,

    So I've started to look into domains lately and came across a potential golden nugget with a .UK extension. I know I can setup a UK business address and register the domain, but I've read that if the owner of "my keyword" .co.uk registered before August 2013 then they're entitled to the .UK version for the next 5 years.

    Does anyone know if there are any loopholes or ways around this?

    If a .co.uk domain was registered after Aug 2013 then they aren't entitled. Is anyone familiar with any methods/services to find .co.uk domains registered after a certain date?

    Any help would be appreciated as I'm just starting out.

    Thanks,

    Lockie

    a simple whois check will show you the registration date

    Thanks, I've been doing that but I was wondering if there are any sites like justdropped.com that can find and sort registration dates for a list of keyword domains. If not then the manual way will have to do :)

    if there aren't any, it wouldn't be too hard to make one even with imacros, it won't be too fancy, but it will do the job

    just generate a list of urls you want to check, loop through the list with imacros and extract the creation dates

    ok, you know what, i just made this simple macro:
    HTML:
    VERSION BUILD=8961227 RECORDER=FX
    TAB T=1
    TAB CLOSEALLOTHERS
    SET !DATASOURCE c:\keywords.txt
    SET !LOOP 1
    SET !DATASOURCE_LINE {{!LOOP}}
    SET !EXTRACT_TEST_POPUP NO
    URL GOTO=https://gwhois.org/{{!COL1}}.uk
    ADD !EXTRACT {{!COL1}}
    TAG POS=1 TYPE=P ATTR=TXT:Created:* EXTRACT=TXT
    SAVEAS TYPE=EXTRACT FOLDER=c:\ FILE=regdates.txt
    make a keywords.txt in the root of your c: drive with all the keywords you want to check, one keyword per line
    the macro will save the results into regdates.txt in the root of your c: drive
    if you want different filenames/paths, modify that part of the macro accordingly

    i made the macro using firefox imacros addon, so it would be advised to play with that too, play it in loop, the amount of loops equals to the amount of domains/lines your urls.txt file contains
    it's pretty fast, so you may get ip limited after some lookups, in that case use proxies or put big enough delays between two lookups

    the result will be in the following format:
    HTML:
    "google.com","Created: Monday, September 15, 1997 | Expires: Monday, September 14, 2020 | Updated: Wednesday, July 20, 2011"
    "yahoo.com","Created: Wednesday, January 18, 1995 | Expires: Thursday, January 19, 2023 | Updated: Wednesday, August 26, 2015"
    you can clean the list with excel and notepad++ to be left with the useful data, so you can easily order the domains by creation date
