Ive litteraly spent the past few hours trying to figure this out. I wanna make those meme videos everyone posts but i wanna make my own instead of just reposting. I cant figure out how to do it or what app people are using. I found an app that lets me add text to vids but it looks like shit. I want like the upper part of the vid to be white with black font and the bottom 75% to be the actual video. I did download this app called vid stitch that lets me upload a picture (where i put my text) and then a video for the bottom half but it looks like crap becuase the layout isnt right. its like a split screen layout and i need something more along the lines of just the upper part of the screen contians the text not half the screen. hopefully someone actually understands what im trying to say here lol....

you'd need a video editing tool with watermarking capabilities, i only used watermark factory which is for pics, but it exists for videos too, it's called video watermark factory, try it
or i'm pretty sure adobe after effects could do the trick too, but it's maybe not the most practical tool to use for fairly simple tasks like this

hawkster... thats actually the first site i came across. i feel pretty dumb becuase at first glance i thought it was stricly a gif maker. i just messed around with it and i think i can make it work. thanks man. still not exactly what im lookin for. fuck it, im just gunna dm the accounts i see posting the videos. i got a feeling its not just an app and people are actually doing some real editing to get the result im looking for. might have to bust out imovie and see what i can do

i,ll check out watermark factory. i use pixlr for most of my stuff but no video editing on there. and yah adobe would do the trick but im shooting for something simple i could do on my phone on the fly

omg dude SAME HERE im loooking for an app that does EXACTLY what you wanted....i tried to DM the accounts that do it but none of them bother to even reply...-_-

tried VivaVideo it adds a bothersome watermark of vivavideo at the bottom right which kinda sucks....will try kinemaster

lol how about you learn basic video editing? or re-format the question/thread title.... "is there an app that can make video memes?"

I don't think there is any app capable of doing all these custom requests to brand your own content, your best bet is to Learn (Adobe Premiere Pro) and google some social media export settings / templates.

Open PowerPoint presentation and add the image and type what you want. It's easy.

Here's a different way of thinking about getting the tools to do what you want in making "video memes."

Say you just had access to radio, and you wanted to be a musician based on what you heard. You might want to get an instrument, or gear associated with the instrument. What you really need to do if you don't know already is learn how to write and play music and make the most of the simplest instrument that can be used to play the style of music you are interested in.

You're looking to make short videos which either loop on their own (some gifs) or loop when Instagram replays the video. That's it. There may be apps or video editor plugins/filters/etc which achieve a particular effect but you'd be better off using (or learning how to use) a more general video editing program, maybe something like Adobe After Effects, Sony Vegas, imovie, whatever.

You'll want to design the first few frames of the video separate from the rest of the looping video, so you have the title / tile image which you anyone will see when they browse the post, and then when the video starts to play they'll see the rest of the video you've uploaded. The fewer frames you give the title or tile image the less likely you'll see it when the video loops, which may or may not be a desired effect depending on what you are looking for. You'll probably want to experiment with that and other aspects of the video to achieve the effects you want within IG's limits.

Why not try CrazyTalk Animator if you want 2D gifs?
