    A friend of mine has a WordPress site. The site looks great but in the upper left hand corner something is putting the word Default there. Anyone know what this could be from? Hoping someone has had this issue and resolved it. I can't find it in any of the WordPress files in the Editor.

    Impossible to answer without the site url / source code. A plugin perhaps? PM me the url and I'll take a look for you.

    This is what is found in the source. Seems to be hard coded or a plugin (G+ author plugin?).
    Take a look at the end of header.php
    Code:
    <meta name="generator" content="WordPress 3.5.1" />
    Default
    <link href="#removed#" rel="publisher" />

    $0.25 says it's some code that's not been formatted properly. I accidentally typed the letter "p" at the top of the code of a plugin once. Took me hours to find the cause.

    Try disabling your plugins, and then try activating them one by one to see if that helps.

    Thanks for taking a look! I think you're right; it probably is the G+ authorship plugin.

    Yeah it has to be something plugin-related. If deleting the authorship plugin doesn't work I'll definitely disable the plugins one by one and see if I can identify the problem.

    Thanks again guys.

    A tips. Try to use as few plugins as possible, ALWAYS!
    For G+, all that is needed is 1 line of code. Just put this in header.php after <head> (That's what your plugin does).
    Code:
    <link href="http://plus.google.com/your_google_plus_profile_id" rel="publisher" />
    Remember that for every plugin you install, you include someone else' code, a 3th party, on your website.
    I might sound paranoid, and I'm not saying that it's something wrong with the plugin you're using, but it happens all the time that people get their sites hacked be cause of malicious plugins.

    And those "simple" plugins is always in focus for the hackers.

    When everything that's needed is 1 line of code, I would recommend to do it yourself :)
