Anyone just seen the commercial for Alibaba?

I can't believe I just sat through a commercial for Alibaba on the Discovery channel (ironically) ... I want to watch Mythbuster's - not know about a website where 99.999% are scammers!!!!

Anyone else see it? They should of just put an advert up saying "Come here if you want to get scammed!"

I can't believe it - I feel sorry for the people that are going to go there. I had my ass burnt four times from that place ... FOUR TIMES! I have to admit there are some honest sellers, you just have to find them.

i saw it a few days ago, i didn't realise there were so many scammers there though. Is it really that bad? I was interested in looking into getting in 3D TVs for the UK and spoke to a couple of gold members and they quoted ridiculously low prices, so if you are right, i guess its not worth pursuing?

Pretty much all the sellers in the Electronic Categories are scammers ... the majority are chinese and quote that they're original branded products, when they're not.

Although the majority of branded products are manufactured in China, rarely are they distributed to independent Chinese Sellers to sell on Alibaba I can tell you that! Once they've manufactured, they distributed either straight the the brand themselves or to the distributors such as retail shops. RARELY to people to sell on Alibaba!!!

I wouldn't touch it in my opinion. I got burnt 4 times - you'd of thought I would of learn the second time.

I bought a macbook air from dhgate, which is similar, last year and actually ended up getting a package. When I opened it it was a toy panda bear. Then, all of a sudden I lost all contact. Felt like I'd been computer whored.

ouch, that is bad. I ordered some mp3 players a few years back and they were fine. I did not factor in customs costs so I actually made little money when I sold them on.

What you should actually do is start a new thread titled [name of the company] - scam. Then you will help a lot of ppl.
