Came across the r/Nihilism subreddit years ago. While i thought I was a nihilist at the time i was actually depressed. Long story short - thanks to lot of things specially psychedelics and quiting my job and pursuing to do something on my own im at a great place mentally.

But stuff like Nihilism, Absurdism, Existentialism - different approach to life fascinates me.

I have tried to read books by Nietzsche and Camus years ago. But their stuff (translations) are difficult to read even for native English people. So I gave up.

I think i am going to give it another shot at those books as I think my English language ability has improved quite a bit over the years.

Starting from "Beyond good and Evil" by Nietzsche.

Anyone here into stuff like this? What are your favorite Philosophers?

Got into it quite recently too. Although Nietzsche is known by a lot of people associated with the belief of Nihilism, he is actually against it and his late works show us best how to avoid it.

I do agree that stuff from Camus, Nietzsche, and other old philosophers are hard to read even if you're a native in English. I highly suggest exploring a lot of Eastern Philosophy too. Look for Lao Tzu, Confucius, Gautama. They not only fascinate you with their ideas, but clearly make you realize how to live a fulfilling life and strive you to become a better person everyday.

I personally don't learn well with books so I go to YouTube for guidance. Hours worth of reading is compacted in 10-20 minute videos you can understand very simply. Go for channels like Academy of Ideas, Pursuit of Wonder, The School of Life, Einzelganger and Freedom in Thought.

I'm pretty sure you're going to enjoy a lot with those channels :D

Lao Tzu, Confucius, Gautama
I live in a primarily a Buddhist country. I am kinda familiar with Gautamas teaching.
Will checkout others too.

I like to read. I like to have my own opinion first before reading/watching others and fill the gaps afterwords. Does that makes sense? That's why i want to read the books first ;)
