you guys using blogger for your niche projects? like product reviews with a buy now link at the end of the post..

I made a review blog using blogger.. it turned out really well.. withs some of my seo and hard work building backlinks within a month it was ranking at number 3 for a competitive keyword and stayed there for 2 months.. made me quite some $$ in the process as well..

now the problem is that it has started falling down the rankings.. its now at number 24 and no matter what i do it just wont climb..

so i wanted to ask if this is a problem with blogger? are all of you guys using blogger having this problem?

maybe the reason for the fall in ranking is because of no more posts were added to it after october 2009..

if that is the case then im screwed.. i cant add any more posts.. my main product reviews will be pushed down :/

any suggestions as to what to do with this blog of mine??

Are you continuing to build backlinks and doing other offsite SEO to it or did you just stop? I don't use blogger much, but have not noticed any drops in any rankings.

Number 3 to 24...

What kind of SEO did you do? Anything black hat or gray hat?

i think i told you this would happen in your previous
thread. it's normal for a site that uses blogging platform
to drift away from its previous ranking if no more new
content added. if your site is really thin (only 2-3 post),
then this is likely to be happened. try add more post
using the date before the latest post's date.

My 5 blogger adsence blogs are down. I"m down 25% this year in adsence as well in traffic.

Its happened to me too, but I didn't get as many links as I wanted to my site originally so I am building more.

I don't think the blogging platform has anything to do with it.

my blog has 6 posts, each 500 to 700 words long so there is no dearth of content there... and yes i have been adding backlinks regularly..

i noticed this when i emphasized on getting forum backlinks.. are forum backlinks bad?

so what you guys are saying that my drop has nothing to do with the blog format if it has enough content?

then why the drop? i have been building stable backlinks...

.. one of my competitors has around 1000 forum backlinks and he is ranking at number 4... thats the reason i started getting forum backlinks..

happened to me too.. my adsense content blog doing really well in 2009 simply dropped from rankings in 2010 :/

I never do black hat.. everything is white hat manual link building

The 3 main search engines treat content in very different ways.

Bing and Yahoo are much more consistent in how they treat content and links. Provided nothing else changes - new competing sites and content etc. - then you'll stay pretty much as expected in their rankings.

Google on the other hand places particular emphasis on new content - new is becoming the new PR for Google as it tries to compete with the Twitter search engine. All things being equal, if you do a site: search on any of your blogs in Google you'll generally find the newest pages at the top of the listing.

So, if you've done nothing with your sites for a while - particularly if they're blogger sites (blogger = blogs to Google which demands consistently new content if they are to stay ranked) - then expect your rankings to fall.

The answer if you're not looking tp update your content is to avoid Blogger, WordPress.com etc. and go with Squidoo, Hubpages or plain vanilla HTML on your own domains.

I've also noticed a slight decrease in my rankings for 2 different blogger blogs which I run. That being said, I haven't added new content in a few weeks so I'm assuming that's the culprit.

that sucks... so any idea how i can use or utilize the link juice and ranking that has been built for this blog?

i removed the date an time from all of my posts by deleting the html for that content.. hope that helps :/

My blogger that got me 5euro a day without doing anything also dropped from first page :(

One of my product review blog which used to be in the first page, 2nd position... fell to position 550+ :(

Is it possible blogspot fell in google dance? Even if google is the owner?

Just my two cents guys don't kill the messenger.

We all know Google is moving towards a new Semantic Indexing Algorithm. A move from Web 2.0 to Web 3.0.

When I create blogs for people I make sure each blog has a 2 or 3 widgets. At least one` video. Make sure to use you video wherever you can.

A picture for every paragraph.

A Twitter and Facebook Icon for RSS puposes ... updating those properties. Make sure you are using these properties to promote you website...this in my opinion is the way the new Web 3.0 is going.

If those blogs were making me money I would beef them up with more than just content.

I have new at this. I only have around 10 years experience. Nothing is fact here. Lots of grey areas.

Also, I would build a few more Web 2.0 properties around you money blogs. Fire off a few articles linking them to the blogs. So you have a few articles linked to your Web 2.0 properties and these properties linking to your money site. This may even bumb you up ot the #1 position. Who knows.

Worst thing you can do is sit around while Google does its dance.

Here is something I read lately. Youtube is now considered to be a Search Engine. Approximately 23% (not sure exactly), of all searches are done via Youtube.

I believe that back links will be downgraded allot with this new turnover. How you are Semantically Indexed and linked through Social Media Networks will be paramount.

Google Luck...I mean Good Luck

I noticed bloggers with less than 25 posts suffer the most. To compensate my new sites all have 50 in them and the one with more 50 is sticking high $$$ in adsense for now. And I have 400 blogs in blogger

a twitter and facebook module for blogger... will this update RSS even if they are only widgets..

can you recommend some widgets that you are using for blogger?

400 blogs? OMG.. How many gmail accounts did you use to create 400 blogs? How did you monetize them? All using the same adsense account? Would the ban hammer come? Thanks...
