Anyone here make multiple sites in the same niche?

We are always seeing stories - "Google slapped me" etc. because you went too far with black hat seo, maybe it took just one thing to get slapped.

So why not build multiple sites in the same niche? You can experiment more too.

This is something I am seriously thinking of doing. Making like 20 sites in the same niche. You can also repeat topics across sites without Google slapping you for having similar content on the one site.

What do you think? Anyone here does this?

Maybe but make sure you do not clash the same keywords or you will end up competing against your own website

Run them together with 2 routes up the SE Index

Making money rule = Scale up. Does not matter even if it is same niche. I have never tried with same content but I have certainly done this with same product same sales pitch but other pages having different content. and it certainly worked for me.

I most certainly do, a lot. Why not? No need to link them directly, but if you're promoting a product A, you can leech the other site's judgement on it..

"product A rules, just look at how sites <yoursite>, <yoursite b> and <yoursite c> endorse it also..."

Makes sense, if you can find two of the same EMDs, why not make two sites...

One aspect is that it takes quite lot of effort to manage 20 sites per niche so you better to be in right niche which converts or otherwise you loose time and money.

If you are confident that you can pick right niches then it might be worth to try. I would rather pick 10 niches with 2 sites than 1 niche with 20 sites. Of course it also depends how broad niche you select.

I used to work with a software company that did this.

They just created different versions of their software (different interface, graphics, totally unique web design, etc ).

It was very effective and often times they would have multiple rankings for the same keywords.

I imagine it took a lot of work to do this but it worked very well for them.

Yeah sorry I should add that I know this niche well and it is a fantastic one. So no need to test the niche at all. I know how to convert it well.

I have created a 10x10 matrix of keywords, all different. I'm sure my sites will compete with each other on some related terms but I don't see that as a bad thing at all. Just makes it more likely the surfer will visit one of my sites

I already started with this work and so far so good

I actually bought 5 exact domains .us and hope to see them all one day ranked. All of them will be big authority sites.

I have around 20 sites in my niche and am working on figuring out what works best for each site.

For my most imporatant site I actually built a duplicate copy of it and character spun the content. Then if I get deindexed or penalized I will have an aged site with content waiting in the wings. nNot quite what you were asking but thought I'd share anyway....

So by the end of this weekend I will have 5 sites worth of content (5 articles each). I don't know if I will get to 10 sites. I will leave the other half of sites till another day.

I am open to suggestions on how to rank these, here are my ideas for experiments so far on each of my 5 sites:

site 1 - buy a complex BHW total SEO solution budget approx $150 - strongly looking at "Vitamin D" offering
site 2 - do nothing except autopinging when posting
site 3 - private blog network links only (maybe start with 200 social bookmarks first)
site 4 - post copies of site articles to eza and link back to main domain
site 5 - 200 social bookmarks only?

I am open to suggestions as none of this is final yet. What experiments would you run?

If you're in a good niche that you like working in and that makes good money, you'd be retarded not to build as many sites as you can. You cover more keyword real estate and you have more chance of riding out fluctuations in the serps if you build all your sites differently.

My idea is different. I always have one big niche and create 5-10 micro niches to complement my big site. Its always good to have a micro niche as a separate site and then link back to main site so that you get the required link juice and also more income from ads..

U will completely end up in competing among your websites(if they target the same set of kws) and i dont think it will make sense if u make the websites on the same niche.

I like this idea but my problem is I don't have multiple hosts.

I could do that on Web 2 like blogger though...

No, they are different keywords. And like I said, even if I compete on similar terms, what's so bad about that? It means that in google top 10, they get two of my sites instead of one and increase my chances.

Competing against yourself is never a bad thing. Competing against others is worse.

It's like a business owner buying a second store on the street if there is demand for it. How can that be a bad thing? It's good to dominate!
